Does this not bother any one here. Obama for 8 years was just to get those who were younger to not realize and those that were older to forget about it. The plan is to keep the Bush's and the Clinton's in the WH over and over again.
Bush/Clinton royalty ruling class is so in your face that I cannot fathom why anyone would wish to vote for them again and again and be controlled by the ptb. The wishes of the people do not count.
The system is truly rigged. Has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders except he is telling the truth. The system IS rigged!

(5,792 posts)elected. Obama is not the person he projected himself to be when I voted for him. They had to have someone else in the WH to break up that picture of always the two families...who are best friends btw. The ptb are in control that is why there is an uprising with both Sanders and Trump as the people are sick of it.

The same idea of why people barely getting by fervently support Republicans: they think that, if they d so one day they too will be rich. There's a significant number of Bernie supporters who really believe that, if by some miracle (underline 'miracle') he were to win the nomination (winning the Presidency is a given) that the Socialist Revolution they claim to believe in would immediately become reality and all the economic ills and injustices of the country would vanish like a bad dream. Magical thinking.

(26,060 posts)You haven't even heard the news mention that taxes for everyone would be going up A LOT if Bernie gets what he wants. I guess they're saving that bit of news for the general. Cult is the perfect name for them. And now they can't even admit to themselves that Hillary is more popular than they imagine so if she does win NY, it's going to be because she cheated. I swear I suspect most of them are right wingers causing trouble.

(14,732 posts)more offensive ones on DU (note the large number of these who are 'newbies', joining DU in Feb. or March with very low total posts) are right wingers getting their jollies out of trolling our boards. Others are the dreamy-eyed socialists who are (still) waiting for the inevitable revolution to come to America, and have invested their hopes in Bernie. What is common to them all is what you say - that when she wins NY we will hear howls of "cheating" and "disenfranchisement". It's about all they have got left.
Right wingers causing trouble. When people ignore basic, simple math, they've moved beyond reason and can't be dealt with. I just laugh at them now.

(5,792 posts)she is really doing with the many lies and deceit. This is not the first time I have said this. But today those who trash are very busy. Just as her husband looked right into the camera and said he did not have sexual relations with that woman so Hillary is just as her husband. She looks into the camera and says we had to duck our heads under sniper fire. She lies! Both the Clinton's lie at the drop of a hat. You can also see it in their body language and their facial expressions. I was not insulting any one. I am in amazement that Hillary supporters do not see what is truly dishonest in the Clinton's. They really want a dishonest person to be the President of the United States and represent all of the people. Except all of the people do not want her to be President. Her unfavorable polls are terrible and her dishonesty polls are off the charts. No games, just my opinion. I'm not going to continue to do this with you back and forth...it's useless.
Edit: One more thing if I may. Her latest about VT and the guns. I'm a Californian and most of the guns in NY came from CA not VT. The "per capita" for VT is to cover her, because she was saying this lie without those two words previously....Thought they better make it seem more real. CA is the reason for the season. Wonder what my fellow Californians are going to think about her comment when the time comes..hmmmm... She has said I'm going to do everything I can to win New York, ... I believe her. This is the one thing out of her mouth that I do believe.

(1,163 posts)She will never be president. She is disqualified and she doesn't deserve it and she's weak.
She's disqualified ethically, maybe not legally but ethically.
She doesn't deserve it because she doesn't represent our core values. She's worked hard for it but that isn't the same thing.
And, she's weak. Her baggage, real and imagined, and her very tone, she's a turn off and she just can't win in the GE.
These are sad times for the nation and for the party-- Clintons suck all the air out of the room. Every element of the party machinery and it's corporate media partners have made it practically impossible to hold a legitimate primary.
Still, we may win this mofo and I think we will, but not with her.

It has been called the 1,2,3 we take the mark's money, for that reason and truth be told, having grown up in poverty, I have had times rough enough to engage as one of the illusion keepers in order to get a cut so I could eat.
In my defense, during that period in my life I was 15, Homeless and had to do something to survive when I couldn't get work, I have very carefully and with clear intent worked to remove such character flaws as I developed, educated myself and grew up while growing as a person, and would not do so again, even if it meant going hungry.
That being said, there are those in politics that do not care about the state or development of their character and will resort to three card monte to win an election. Not all that win do so, and not all that lose are a victim of the games that can be used by the player to cheat you, The trick works differently than the card game in party deal making against the mark (voters), but works in a similar way, producing expected results.
Unfortunately for us we have a master at the con in the game this current cycle that lacks the character to resist using the game to trick the mark and win with the expected 1,2,3 results. Remember, too many suckers line up for the game to likely have any other outcome.

(3,017 posts)If Hillary is elected President, I predict she will give Gillibrand a position in her administration and Cuomo will put a caretaker in Gillibrand's seat (her old NY Senate seat) to fill out the term, and Chelsea will launch her political career with a run for the Senate seat in 2018. That will set her up to put in 4-5 years before running for President in 2024.
I would be in favor of updating the 22nd amendment to preclude family dynasties in the Presidency. Spouses, brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren of Presidents are disqualified from the Presidency. One President per family.

(3,017 posts)They have kept Chelsea pretty much a blank slate. She basically wouldn't speak to the press or say much of anything publicly until they've put her out in front of small groups, off camera, as a surrogate for her mother during this campaign. She has been making the political connections through the Clinton Foundation. She is old enough to run for the Senate and will be in her 40's by 2024, older than Bill was when he ran for President the first time in 1988.
StevieM
(10,500 posts)If Hillary wins the presidency then she will probably be the nominee again in 2020.
Elizabeth Warren will run in 2024. If Hillary (or Bernie) loses in 2016 then Warren will run in 2020.
Kirsten Gillibrand will serve a long career in the Senate and never run for president or accept a cabinet post.
Schumer will serve in the Senate until 2040 when he is 88. That is the earliest point when it will be possible for Cheslea to run for U.S. Senate, at which point she will be 60. She will not run. And I doubt she would run for Senate even if the seat were to open up sooner.
Cuomo will win a third term as governor of New York and serve through 2022. He will also run for president (along with Warren) in 2024.

(15,240 posts)The up coming generations on both the Clinton and Bush family does not seem too bright (example Mom's going to fix Obama care) (George P Bush who is screwing up his land commission job in Texas with his friends). At least the American dynasties do not threaten nuclear war when the kids are thrown in high office too soon. Just remember kids you may be tried out for the speaking circuit at your respective conventions show Mom and Dad you have what it takes. The going rate for a Wall Street speech is impressive but you probably will not get to execute enemies with anti aircraft guns as allowed your peers in North Korea.

(55,745 posts)They say that elections do matter, and that there are real differences between Republican and Democratic presidents. But backing up the view to 30 years, that difference looks a lot more like continuity, both at home and in America's global empire.

The answer is yes to all three. Ronald Reagan hasn't darkened the White House door in decades. But his policy objectives have been what every president, Democrat and Republican have pursued relentlessly ever since. Barack Obama is only the latest and most successful of Reagan's disciples.
SNIP...
In Barack Obama's case all he had to say was that he wasn't necessarily against wars, just against what he called stupid wars. Corporate media and liberal shills morphed that lone statement into a false narrative that Barack Obama opposed the war in Iraq, making him an instantly viable presidential candidate at a time when the American people overwhelmingly opposed that war. Once in office, Barack Obama strove mightily to abrogate the Status of Forces Agreement with Iraq which would have allowed US forces to remain there indefinitely. But when the Iraqi puppet government, faced with a near revolt on the part of what remained of Iraqi civil society, dared not do his bidding, insisting that uniformed US troops (but not the American and multinational mercenaries we pay to remain there) stick to the withdrawal timetable agreed upon under Bush, liberal shills and corporate media hailed the withdrawal from Iraq as Obama's victory.
Barack Obama doubled down on the invasion and occupation of large areas of Afghanistan, and increased the size of the army and marines, which in fact he pledged to do during his presidential campaign. Presidential candidate Obama promised to end secret imprisonment and torture. The best one can say about President Obama on this score is that he seems to prefer murderous and indiscriminate drone attacks, in many cases, over the Bush policy of international kidnapping secret imprisonment and torture. The Obama administration's reliance on drones combined with US penetration of the African continent, means that a Democratic, ostensibly antiwar president has been able to openly deploy US troops to every part of that continent in support of its drive to control the oil, water, and other resources there.
The objectives President Obama's Africa policies fulfill today were put down on paper by the Bush administration, pursued by Bill Clinton before that, and still earlier pursued by Ronald Reagan, when it funded murderous contra armies of UNITA in Angola and RENAMO in Mozambque. It was UNITA and RENAMO's campaigns, assisted by the apartheid regimes of Israel and South Africa that pioneered the genocidal use of child soldiers. Today, cruise missile liberals hail the Obama administration's use of pit bull puppet regimes like Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda, all of which shot their way into power with child soldiers, to invade Somalia and Congo, sometimes ostensibly to go after other bad actors on the grounds that they are using child soldiers.
