Paul Krugman Over the Topby Rick Sterling / April 10th, 2016
Krugman does not hold back. Bernie supporters and Bernie himself are described by Krugman as intolerant, cultish, shallow, vague, without substance, lacking character and values, dishonest, short on ethics, really bad, petulant and self-righteous. Wow!
Krugmans diatribe deserves scrutiny and lampooning. The purpose seems to be to ridicule, threaten and warn Sanders to get back in line. Hopefully progressives will intensify support for Bernie and tell Krugman to get his facts straight.
Here are some key falsehoods in the Krugman attack:..........

(BBM). I had heard him a few times over the years, he's certainly changed his tune. I wish he'd go back to the statements he made then and try to figure out where he stands.

(2,353 posts)All of a sudden all of the "progressives" have sounded pretty Third Way this election cycle. Pretty eye opening... It is all a charade these "progressives" in the MSM like Krugman, Maddow, etc.

(20,582 posts)needing that change are more than a snarl, they're dishonest and creepy. The man, and many like him who railed against everything they're now suddenly for don't give one single shit about those filling the streets and stadiums looking for help. Instead, they outright lie and insult them - to preserve the status quo and the establishment that's enabled it.

(3,190 posts)I used to cheer him on when he would criticize the rediculousness of GWB and Repub economic and budget proposals, but that's like shooting fish in a barrel...definitely doesn't take a Nobel Prize economist to do that. dont know when PK turned into a media hack, but he's excelling at it.

(25,253 posts)a Bernie supporter. If Krugman speaks for the establishment - that's what the establishment thinks about us Bernie supporters as well. How then does the establishment think that we can vote for the establishment candidate when they talk so negative about us?

(3,190 posts)It's like establishment and their watercarriers don't get it that we get it...we know their game and what they are doing to further enrich their fellow country club members while the rest of us struggle.
No more smoke screens, no more bullshit...we get it and that's why we support Bernie.

"I wont try for fake evenhandedness here: most of the venom I see is coming from supporters of Mr. Obama, who want their hero or nobody. Im not the first to point out that the Obama campaign seems dangerously close to becoming a cult of personality. Weve already had that from the Bush administration remember Operation Flight Suit? We really dont want to go there again.

I can respect a good tantrum, but a template tantrum repeated every few years in service to the same candidate just looks like the meaningless offgassing that it is. People pay him to do this, which is amazing to me. Joan Walsh has also recycled entire 'Obama supporters are sexist' pieces this year for Bernie. It's just so redundant and robotic.
