This deserves a post of its own.

Maybe now we have an answer-back that will stop Sanders from his annoying dependence on a 12 year old recanted vote. From an op ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Sanders never misses a chance to criticize Clinton for voting with the majority that gave President George W. Bush authority to attack Iraq in 2002. But four years earlier the senator had voted in favor of a resolution that said, “It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq.”

Obviously, somewhere along the way Sanders changed his mind about regime change in Iraq. Clinton, too, in retrospect says voting for the Iraq war was a mistake. But instead of fighting the last war, she is ready with a plan.

2. Straw-grasping by Hillary Inc. - how pathetic.

NOTHING will make Hillary's IWR vote go away.

She was insistent that it was the hardest decision she's ever had to make, she trusted Shrub to do the right thing, and she parroted ALL of the neocon lies fed to us as reasons to bomb the shit out of Iraq. As late as 2008, Hillary defended her vote, saying that we gave the gift of democracy to Iraq.

So yeah, whatever. Keep grasping.

Was a brutal dictator and most people wanted his regime overthrown. Bernie didn't want to start a never ending war that would destabilize the whole of the Middle East. Nuance is important.

The paper purchased to increase regional power and drive political goals.

The same empire that is preventing the Democratic voter records from being released to his son's challenger, Alex Law.

8. You realize there is no such thing as 'recanting' a vote

Once a vote is made it's made - the best someone can do is say they were mistaken at the time and frequently that is too little too late as actions do have consequences

"Political regret" when her vote for an unsupported, illegal war led to a million deaths and didn't help her politically as she thought at the time it would.

Mr. Speaker, it is my firm belief that clearly, there are some people in our society who are horribly violent, who are deeply sick and sociopathic, and clearly these people must be put behind bars in order to protect society from them. But it is also my view that through the neglect of our Government and through a grossly irrational set of priorities, we are dooming tens of millions of young people to a future of bitterness, misery, hopelessness, drugs, crime, and violence. And Mr. Speaker, all the jails in the world, and we already imprison more people per capita than any other country, and all of the executions in the world, will not make that situation right. We can either educate or electrocute. We can create meaningful jobs, rebuilding our society, or we can build more jails. Mr. Speaker, let us create a society of hope and compassion, not one of hate and vengeance.

And then he voted FOR the bill. Crime Bill 1994
