That vote disqualifies a politician from the presidency, in my book. Inexcusably bad judgment with horrific consequences.

You are left with Hillary or a right wing bigot asshole.
Those are the choices if Bernie loses.
And yes, I hope Bernie wins, but just in case...

"Obama and Clinton disagreed at first over whether to intervene in Libya. Obama wanted to stay out. Clinton favored going in (and Vice President Joe Biden said she "just wants to be Golda Meir" ."

Kinda stupid that media started this whole horse race bullshit thing. It is distraction that too many people want to focus on because small minds buy into it. That what whole two party system in American is about is to distract small minded people to think "me um hate other cause other is different" Then they have them focus on things like abortion, gay rights. etc while ignoring corruption that is destroying our country from with in.

Meanwhile, Biden noted, Sanders did not say Clinton is "not qualified because she's a woman."

(58,785 posts)foreign policy. I'd like to suggest that Sanders' lack of involvement stems as much from that as any special virtue.
Sanders notably has never been accused (so far) of lacking whatever degree of ruthlessness is needed in a president. It was striking last week that, for instance, he seemed to leave the door open for torture during that infamous interview ("get as much information out of him, get information out of him" - said of captured terrorists).
Things like support for the gun manufacturer against the parents of murdered children and shipping radioactive waste to the village of Sierra Blanca suggest that Bernie's ethics are not nearly so sterling as his supporters want to imagine.
President Obama campaigned on fixing America, but he's actually spent a lot of his time "killing terrorists like swatting mosquitoes" according to a terrorism expert, or as Obama once mused ruefully, "I'm really good at killing people."
I don't think you should assume your current image of Sanders would survive even a couple months in the White House. It also should not survive your decision-making process now. Vote for him, but do it well informed and with your eyes wide open.

BOSTON, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The Obama administration moved to block a bankruptcy court from erasing federal student loan debt, saying such an allowance would jeopardize the fiscal stability of the loan program.
U.S. Department of Education attorneys, intervening in the case of a 65-year-old man seeking to erase his student loans in bankruptcy, filed a motion urging the court to stand firm with borrowers who claim they are in a dire financial situation. Attorneys argued that Robert Murphy of Massachusetts, unemployed and of retirement age, has plenty of chances to go back to work or hit the jackpot.
Part of the Establishment DNC. I'll bet he thinks the SD's should decide the election, not the voters, just like the DNC. Why do they want to disenfranchise half of the party?

(10,857 posts)He's a vigorous and persuasive campaigner and he's hammered the formerly ceremonial office of President of the Senate into a powerful position that has turned Republican obstruction in the Senate against itself.
Unless he wants to retire, I expect him to be the first person either of the two candidates approaches, to continue his job as the most important Vice President in American history.
(Yeah, Dick Cheney ran the White House--but only for four years. After that Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld maneuvered him out to pasture and other evil geniuses continued to destroy America in GWB's name. Joe Biden has shepherded at least five Democratic budget proposals to passage (or rather, "continuance" without Democratic control of Congress, something which may never again be repeated without his efforts.)

Biden, President Obama, and hundreds of her colleagues.
Btw, VP Biden is very serious about his work leading a national mission, a "moon shot," to discover a cure for cancer. It's happening. Of course, if we were to lose the presidency, and presumably the Senate with it, then the mission would have to continue on after 2016 without the enormous resources a progressive White House would commit.
Over the next year, I will lead a dedicated, combined effort by governments, private industry, researchers, physicians, patients, and philanthropies to target investment, coordinate across silos, and increase access to information for everyone in the cancer community.
Heres what that means: The Federal government will do everything it possibly can through funding, targeted incentives, and increased private-sector coordination to support research and enable progress.
I know that we can help solidify a genuine global commitment to end cancer as we know it today and inspire a new generation of scientists to pursue new discoveries and the bounds of human endeavor. That is the history of the journey of this country. If theres one word that defines who we are as Americans, its possibility. And these are the moments when we show up.

(58,785 posts)to get along with people and build relationships across the aisle are highly desirable, and I approved attempts to achieve half-loaves in that era; but it seemed to me that sometimes he went along to get along just too much, leading to a betrayal of core principles and those of us who still held them. Notably, Republican senators of that era never followed him left, much less too far left. Perhaps VP Biden has toughened and wised up with age, though.
