Bernie Sanders Nearly Catches Up With Hillary Clinton In California

"SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – California’s Democratic primary this June is no longer a sure thing for frontrunner Hillary Clinton. The latest Field Poll finds Clinton has lost almost all of her once-massive lead over Bernie Sanders.
Less than a year ago, Clinton led Sanders in the Field Poll 66 percent to nine percent. Three months ago, Sanders had whittled her lead down to 11 points. Now Clinton leads 47 percent to 41 percent, a margin of just six points.

“Hillary Clinton is ahead, but not by much,” Field Poll director Mark DiCamillo told KCBS.
While the former Secretary of State leads among Democrats, the senator from Vermont is winning independent voters, who are allowed to vote in the state’s Democratic primary on June 7th. And Sanders is crushing Clinton among younger voters, whether they are men, women, white or Latino.
“Where he’s connecting most, it’s very clear in the poll, it’s generational and it crosses all sorts of subgroups,” DiCamillo said.

Clinton is winning big among older voters of all stripes. But when measuring all Californians, including Republicans, Clinton no longer has a positive rating.
“That’s the first time we’ve seen that,” DiCamillo said. “By contrast, Sanders is viewed favorably 55 to 35, so Clinton has to come through the primary campaign unscathed."

I suspect he will be down by about 300 delegates by then. He will need to win CA by about 80-20 to make that up.

Bernie needs to keep wining and by large margins. The test will be NY as that will show his viability in Dem voters. He's made gains there as well but the biggest factor against him in that regard is the Oct 2015 registration deadline.

We will see soon enough.

If he can pull off a moderate win there it could get somewhat interesting. If just tie or Hillary narrowly wins.. then nothing changes. If Hillary wins big.. its over.
