(609 posts)I do not think this is playing anywhere. Dems are always slow to respond. Remember, Axelrod is the man. He advised Obama to go meek in the first debate.

(3,191 posts)I voted for Lugar!" stickers in Indiana. I hope his goose is cooked.

(10,667 posts)I disagree. They've been very quick in their responses this time around.
He advised Obama to go meek in the first debate.
This is surprising. Do you have some solid backup (link) for this?

(297,723 posts)So, don't come on DU at election time and spout Negative Bullshit about Dems.
Who won the last two debates..hmmm? Clue..It wasn't Fucking Stupid Mitt Romney.

(24,774 posts)It sure is blasphemy to insinuate that rape is God's will.
I don't know about you, but I support a woman's right to choose the father of her child.

(6,121 posts)I see no evidence to support this RW TP about weak, ineffective Democrats.
What have you got?

(94,745 posts)Just showing Romney endorse someone, however nutty he is, won't resonate with LOW-INFORMATION, UNDECIDED voters elsewhere. There's a reason DNC made this a web ad, and not for broadcast.

I hope they are quick.
By the way, I disagree this has significance only in Indiana. I am slightly disappointed this is only a web ad.
That is where they are missing the point. Lot of web ads that do not make it to TV.

I often wonder what Bible the right-wingers read. The one I read makes it very clear that it is God's will for one human to not hurt another.

(2,404 posts)The Bible is full of atrocities.
I am talking about how God wants humans to treat each other. That doesn't mean we obey.

The pared down version of the ad would cause a stir if it airs on tv.

(36,974 posts)When you click on the video to play it - then look down in the bottom right hand corner and were it says YouTube click there. That will take you to the video 'at' YouTube. When you're there you can see who posted the video and read the video description. That is how you can usually tell how made it.

(609 posts)I don't know how we can make a hue and cry and let the Obama campaign know that this need to be on TV during important shows women watch. Yes, it costs money. This is something I would shell out my money for.
Let us send email/faxes to Dem Senators and Obama campaign headquarters.
Many hardworking women are not watching web ads. That includes many hardworking men. Not everyone is in DU (and that includes strong Obama supporters).
This is where I worry about the Axelrod team. They are always on the margins. He wants to win barely. Too safe...He is now probably saying "we are winning in electoral college, let us not upset the apple cart." I love the man but playing not to lose is a bad idea. We are so close to a landslide win but barely. A little tip and things may change. Why not go for the kill.
Hope someone in Obama campaign is reading this. Nancy Pelosi was saying how critical this issue is.
If anyone from DU comes out and says "I am full of it" and that they are playing it on TV/, I would be glad to accept my mistake in understanding. I HOPE I AM WRONG. I WANT TO BE WRONG.
You do not want popular vote to diverge too much. We can win this 51-48-1 if we move 2% of women with this ad.

(718 posts)Yes. These are religious issues to these right wing politicians and it is not at all surprising that they take the positions they do. Usually they are more politic about thier views on women and the control of womens reprodution, but not this time. Of course they believe that pregnancy resulting from rape is the will of god. It is perfectly consistant with the patriarchy that is fundamentalism.
Since earliest history, victorious armies understood that raping the women of the defeated side was their right and that it would leave their own progeny to inhabit the conquored territory. One historical theory has it that the early Hebrews circumcised their men to prevent injuries that could result from the brutality of rape. God's will, afterall. It's even in The Book.
In this country everyone has the right to their own religion and belief, but I don't agree that we all have to respect those beliefs that we find horrendous and barbaric.
I am surprised that anyone is surprised by these views. They are why the numbers of non believers is growing faster than any religion in the USA today.
