Not sure what your point is.

Should someone be "blamed" because NBC hired CC?

Who gets the Big Harrumph? Her mother? Her father? Her husband? Someone else?

Obviously, they think that's a fair price, otherwise they wouldn't pay it.

I doubt they'd pay me to do a few segments and do creative work on proposed shows, but I'm not famous.

Fame is worth something. It DOES have value. Hell, even if you're a half forgotten child star, you can get a quarter million bucks for going on Dancing with the Stars.

Do you seriously think that Bernie's "value" is the same as it was before he made this run for POTUS? His "fame" has increased his Speakers Bureau value enormously.

They are young marrieds.

They're doing that work/parenthood thing.

That's not my wheelhouse, but there is a subset of young people out there who are newly married, and/or new parents, who like to see how the other half lives.

It's why people like the Kate and Will thing, too--vicarious living.

I'd rather hear what those young ladies have to say than, say, one of the Kardashians. At least they've had the benefit of a decent education.

But the networks aren't marketing to old farts like me. They want youthful eyes on their programs, and they believe that young women (mostly) who can identify with the Chelsea/Jenna/Meghan set are more likely to stop and watch their morning programming if they see someone that they can say "Hey, she's like me!"

I'd be (somewhat) interested to know what their ratings were. I hope young people ignored them in droves.

Watch.

When Sanders talks, Clinton turns and listens to him.

When Clinton talks, Sanders stares straight ahead, does not LOOK at his opponent, shifts from foot to foot, and fidgets--then he starts waving that arm and wiggling that finger.

It's a style thing, and yes I would advise Bernie to emulate Hillary in this, were I an advisor.

Doesn't mean I like her, just means I recognize a style thing that would be easy to correct when I see one.

So he gestures when he talks. That's a style thing, which I happen to like. YMMV.

As for the finger, I think a raised index finger to indicate a desire to rebut is a lot better than shouting over the other ON THEIR TIME.

But we're never going to convince each other, of course. And voters will decide for themselves.

It wouldn't work for Hillary, probably. But I dislike her intensely for many reasons, so I'm hardly an unbiased observer. As you are not either, I perceive.

So I'm unilaterally agreeing to disagree.
