Psalm 24
The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell within.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob, Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty; the Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
King James version
In honor of Bernie's speech at the Vatican conference.
The earth is not mine or yours. It belongs to all of us and to every creature on it. That is why we say it is the Lord's, that it belongs to that which is beyond us and which we cannot describe or measure or even understand in its entirety.
And of the candidates for our presidency, Bernie' has the "clean hands" and the "pure heart." He has not "lifted up his his soul to vanity nor sworn deceitfully."
And so this Psalm is appropriate to celebrate his visit to the Vatican.
I am not a Catholic. I am a Unitarian. I live in constant awe of the amazing order of the world, and perhaps of the universe. Some, including me, call that order, that constantly creative order, God.
I support Bernie because I believe he shares this spiritual awareness (It's not so much a belief as an awareness) with me.
And that is why, for me, it is so right that Bernie attended this conference at the Vatican, that he sat with the leaders of the worlds humble and prayed in his way for justice, for peace and for a healthy environment.

Thank you.
