Why would Hillary want to "dispatch" the Sanders campaign

if she really believes she is winning?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1696687

Here's the reason: Once nominated she will of course "pivot" from running just to the right of Bernie to running just to the left of the Republican nominee. (If Trump is the nominee she may want to run to his right on some issues, such as trade.) The longer the primary race goes on, the more she will say, such as cheering for state-level $15 minimum wages, that will make the "pivot" less credible.

But the truth is that the "pivot" won't be credible anyway. Its predictability makes it pointless. Those who support Hillary will understand that it is a tactic, and will trust her to act in their interest whatever she says in the "pivot." Those who oppose her, or support with some reluctance, will also understand the "pivot" as a tactic, and estimate her real intentions according to their pre-existing information about her.

So an attempt to "dispatch" the Sanders campaign would be an error of judgment.

First and foremost could be so she can concentrate her efforts on the general election.

However, I plan on supporting Jill Stein. That being said, I'm only a first time voter not many of us in this election. Oh, while I respect Bernie I don't just follow Bernie blindly like the media would like you to believe, that's why it wouldn't matter to me if he endorsed Hillary..

I want corruption out of politics. Hillary is the embodiment of Corruption in Politics.

However, if Bernie supports Hillary in the GE, some of his supporters may follow suit, just as Hillary's supporters cast ballots for Obama in 2008.

can be on $pending her concentrated campaign donation$ in the general election rather than u$ing them up on the primary.

That's really last century's thinking. Sanders has shown that enthusiastic support is a very very deep well for campaign support. You may run out of money from a few deep pocketed donors, but you don't run out of money from millions of enthusiastic supporters.

She was given the position of Secretary of State as a "Brokered Deal" at the convention in exchange for her endorsing President Obama. Obviously to her the settlement meant she would be positioned well to run in 2016

Bernie is messing that up

DNC chair: We may have to broker Clinton-Obama deal

(CNN) - As predictions of a convention floor fight from the campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama continue to mount, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said the party would likely intervene to prevent that scenario.

Dean said Democrats would look to “get the candidates together to make some kind of an arrangement” before the party meets in Denver this August to officially select its nominee.
