Do you want to see the 28 pages released?
Or does Bob Graham hate Obama?

(99,711 posts)The Saudi tactic of exporting their radicals so they won't bother them might have blown up in their faces. If it can be demonstrated they supplied material support to the some of the nineteen hijackers the fallout will be huge.

(18,133 posts)i have seen virtually no Hillary supporters posting in any of these 28 pages threads. do you have a take on whether or not they should be released?

(10,476 posts)There's a lot of agreement in Camp Sanders in regards to his support of the Palestinians vs. the Israelis, frequently casting the latter as the aggressor and the former as the victims. Yet here with the "28 pages", there's accusations of Saudis financing terrorists abroad, and you decry that. Which may well be true, I'm no lover of the US' close Saudi relationship either.
If the Palestinians had money, would you dislike them too?

(18,133 posts)do you care who was responsible for attacks on your own country? do you care that they may have gotten special treatment from your own govt that enabled the attack and coverup?

(18,133 posts)and her supporters continually deflect criticism of her with accusations of Obama hating.
I am just surprised that the DUers who are concerned about the 18 pages seem to be almost exclusively Sanders supporters. Why is that?

(15,805 posts)there's absolutely no connection whatsoever to Hillary. You ask why your personal perceptions aren't being widely discussed, and here's the thing, while it's fun to join in the wild speculation about what might enfold, until some official decision is made to actually release the unredacted text, it's just more idle chatter. Over time, most people learn to wait until there's actually something meaningful to discuss, and in the meanwhile, given the aggregate mass of more relevant topics available, the focus on this particular issue seems a bit premature.

(2,760 posts)I can't really say. It could be something we all should know, it could be something that endangers national security.

(146,329 posts)Why would her supporters not want them released?

(25,270 posts)Afterall it was NYC that was attacked that day and if Hillary cares about the people of NY that suffered more than most Americans she should want to know what is in those 28 pages if it could get to the bottom of what happened that day. This is not like her transcripts of her speeches that she owns. These 28 pages belong to the People of the USA. BushCo, Congress, Obama cannot continue to withhold valuable info from us that might shed light on what happened that tragic day. If Hillary cares about the people of her home state like she claims - she needs to come out forcefully for the release of these 28 pages. If she doesn't - it shouts out loud and clear what kind of president she will be.

(146,329 posts)Right now, she has no control over the release of that. After she's elected, though, she should be able to expedite it, although it would have to be declassified first. I think it should be released, although there may be some parts of it that would need to be redacted to protect the safety of some people, I imagine.
I really don't know if she has said anything about that document recently, though. Do you?
global1
(25,270 posts)She can influence Congress to make these pages available.
No - I don't know that she has said anything about this document - but I feel that she should say something (as explained in my previous post).
She is probably staying away from commenting on this because if Pres Obama might be backing down from having these released - she probably doesn't want to cross him - especially now when she's been hiding behind his coattails - as in the last debate.
To me these 28 pages are an important part of piecing together what was the worst attack on this country. If there is a possibility that these can become declassified and we learn more about what happened to us that day - then that should be pushed for by every candidate running for the Presidency. Especially if all the candidates are being truthful and they want to make us safe and prevent future attacks on our shores.
The Saudi's seem to be blackmailing us now with their threats. We should let these 28 pages be released and let the chips fall where they may. If the Saudi's were behind this attack - the American People need to know.
Hillary - to me - is in the best position to make a case for release of this document. As she tells us - she was the Senator for NY when this attack happened. She lived through the worse with the People of NY. She owes it to them to have the last pieces of the puzzle made available.
This is the time to come out for this - as it is in focus now - in the news. Not wait until after the election when this could be swept under the rug again.
Will she be very presidential now and call for their release or will she duck the issue because of politics? This to me is that 3am call that the president needs to handle. How will she handle this?

(146,329 posts)are those currently in office. Candidates for office, not so much, really.
global1
(25,270 posts)don't you think that she has influence with them? She appears to be the candidate that would be most influential in getting those currently in office to release that document. Again - she has a forum now. She is still considered the presumptive nominee. The SuperD's are mostly in her court. Why not use that now as an example of what kind of president she will be? What better way is there for her to show the people of NY why they should vote for her?
MineralMan
(146,329 posts)But, she's not in a position to really insist that anyone do anything. Once she's President, though, she will be, as I said earlier.
