NEW YORK (WABC) -- With two days left before the New York primary, Bernie Sanders appeared on Eyewitness News Sunday Morning and pledged to take his fight for the Democratic nomination all the way to the floor of this summer's convention in Philadelphia.
"Every person in this country, every state in this country, has a right to cast their ballot for who they want to see the Democratic nominee be," he said.
Asked whether the battle with Hillary Clinton is hurting the party, Sanders said, "The only way the Democrats are going to win is with a large voter turnout, and we are helping to create that turnout," he said.
Sanders maintained he still has a good chance to win Tuesday's New York primary against Clinton, and emphasized that national polls show him beating Donald Trump in the general election.

A video is on the link, I believe this is one of the higher quality interviews of Bernie, the vast majority actually devoted to the issues.
Also of note, they didn't rudely interrupt or cut Bernie off with their own opinions, they simply let Bernie speak to the people regarding his stance on the critical issues of the day, unlike well paid national media pundits; with an inherent agenda of their own.

(9,313 posts)Fast. Clear. Touches on seemingly all the major points. (I imagine someone could think of something missed, but I can't off the top of my head.)
A big kick 'n' rec!

(10,538 posts)I've found the local news coverage to be good.
As a former New Jerseyan, his natural style seems very "NY/Tri-State" -- fast talking. Matter of fact. Straightforward. Clear. (Could be I'm over-stereotyping, but I find it's a tone that's familiar.)
And when campaigning in NY, he's also reaching people in NJ, CT, and even PA. Lots of commuters. Lots of NY Media.
Hope it helps give him a boost throughout the region. Every dollar spent in NY is a dollar well-spent.

(9,313 posts)It's all good, but I particularly like the last minute. He has said this many times, but it seems to me the point has yet to be embedded in the public consciousness. And it's so important. It's an arrow to the heart of the "impractical Bernie" meme.
Pushing this one is a wedge. It's a counter to the widespread cynicism that deafens so many to everything else he is saying.
Sanders: Yeah. (Matter of factly).
When the American people are prepared to stand up and fight back there is nothing that we cannot accomplish.
Interviewer: But there's still congress. There are voters and there's congress.
Sanders: But Congress -- congress -- members of congress -- and I know 'em pretty well -- are not dummies.
And if they look out and they see millions of people saying "You know what? We are going to join the rest of the industrialized world. We are gonna have healthcare as a right like Canada, and England, and France, and Germany. Yeah, we can do that."
And when young people and their parents say, "You know what? It's absurd that kids are graduating school 30, 50, 70 thousand dollars in in debt. Yeah, we bailed out wall street, now it's wall street's time help us."
When people stand up and fight back, whether it's raising the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour, whether it's gay rights, whatever it may be, you can make profound changes.
I am the only candidate that tells you no, no president alone can do it. We need millions of people active in the political process. That's what we are bringin' about right now.
Interviewer: Senator Sanders. Thank you so much.
