Santorum has big lead in Tennessee

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/02/29/santorum_leads_big_in_tennessee.html

40 to 19 among Republicans, Gingrich is at 13 and Paul is at 11.

There have not been all that many polls of TN but the one real trend there seems to be a move away from Gingrich to Santorum, Romney seems to be more or less flat in both TN and OH, regardless of his national numbers.

If Santorum can win the OH, TN and OK primaries and win at least some of the caucus states next week he can stride back into Co-frontrunner status, particularly if he manages to knock Gingrich out.

As likely as a Romney nomination seems I am not ready to declare him inevitable until after Illinois at the end of next month.

Which is of course good for us, the longer this race is contested the more these guys destroy each other and their party brand which helps Obama and Dems down ticket regardless of whoever they end up nominating.

While i am sure that Romney has momentum right now and that the next set of polls will certainly be closer Santorum can take heart in one thing. Romney has never polled above 30 in Ohio even at his national polling peaks they just don't seem to like him much there. On the converse even while Santorum was polling only slightly over Paul nationally he was still in the mid 20s in OH, his default base there seems to be larger than Romney's.

So my friends get ready for at least another month of comedy and self-destruction as the GOP Clown Car rolls on and on.

There are six big prizes next Tuesday: Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Massachusetts. Santorum is positioned to win three of the six (OH, TN, and OK), with Gingrich in position to win a fourth (GA). It ain't nearly over.

A once-married nut case vs. a thrice-married nut case.

The once-married nut case wins out in Tennessee every time, I tell ya...........
