http://bipartisanreport.com/2016/04/17/just-in-reporters-uncover-links-between-the-clintons-the-panama-papers/The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists has barely scratched the surface of the 11.5 million documents in the Panama Papers and already the leak from the Panama law firm Mossack Fonesca has exposed the financial misdeeds of the very rich and been linked to more than a few heads of state, such as David Cameron and Vladimir Putin. But, the first true political casualty came when Icelands Prime Minister Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson was forced to resign over protests decrying his connection to offshore tax shelters. Now, the Panama Papers Clinton link just might prove a threat to Hillary Clintons presidential bid.
Its difficult to tell what impact this is going to have on the Democratic nomination, but before things get to out of hand, its important to note the information so far does not show any wrongdoing or even legal-yet-questionable behavior on the part of the Clintons themselves. In short, its the fact that more than a few people very close to both Bill and Hillary used the law firm Mossack Fonseca to establish offshore companies to evade taxes. perhaps most notable among those named in the latest report are Gabrielle Fialkoff and Marc Rich.
Fialkoff served as Hillary Clintons finance director during her first Senate campaign, which is not only a little ironic, but may prove useful fodder for anyone wanting to link Clinton to wealth and corruption. As for Rich, he was pardoned in the final days of Bill Clintons presidency, a move that raised more than a few eyebrows. At the time, Rich was an international fugitive wanted for tax evasion, racketeering and busting sanctions with Iran. President Clintons connection to Rich and his reasons for granting the pardon have formerly been the source of a good deal of media speculation thats now likely to get rehashed.
There are quite a few more associates on the list, but so far thats all the Panama Papers have revealed about the Clintons. And that may be all there is to it, but in a campaign cycle such as the one in which Americans currently find themselves embroiled, you better believe Republicans and Democrats alike are going to have a lot to say about this revelation. You can look for Sanders to move on this right away, as his entire campaign rests on the idea that Americans are fed up with a system that favors the rights of the rich to get richer at everyone elses expense.
In fact, even before the leak showed any connection to Clinton, both Democratic candidates had their shaped their approach to the issue. Sanders has said that Clintons support of the Panama Free Trade agreement enabled precisely the kind of tax shelters the Panama Papers have now revealed. Clinton, for her part, has condemned the practices detailed in the Panama Papers while speaking at a recent AFL-CIO event:

"so far thats all the Panama Papers have revealed about the Clintons."
Typically, it's like the FBI investigation, everyone minimizes it 'cause - until something REALLY major breaks - its just not newsworthy enough or worse, they just don't care.

(3,017 posts)But she apparently knew nothing about that when she was approaching the "free trade" agreement with Panama while Bernie was pointing out that Panama was one of the worst tax havens in the world and had an economy that was about 2/10 of 1% of the size of the U.S. economy. Or at least that is what she would try to have us believe.
Sounds like the Iraq War. The right answer was obvious to Bernie while Hillary was on the indefensible side.
And Obama should not escape responsibility for that bullshit agreement with Panama.

The Clinton campaign declined to comment on why the Clintons, who live in New York and have no evident residential ties to Delaware, set up companies in the state. But the presidential candidate isnt alone. Experts say Delaware is the most popular place to register a company in the United States, due in part to its established system of business case law and tax incentives for intellectual property and real estate holdings.

Hillary Clinton has promised to crack down on tax havens on the campaign trail. Referring to the Panama Papers last Wednesday, Clinton condemned outrageous tax havens and loopholes that super-rich people across the world are exploiting in Panama and elsewhere.
The Clinton Foundation also has three shell companies in Delaware, according to its amended financial disclosures released last year.
One is the Acceso Fund, LLC, which was registered by the Corporation Trust Company at 1209 North Orange Street in 2009. The Clinton Foundation has used the company to channel money to its Colombia-based private equity fund, Fondo Acceso.
The private equity fund, which is run out of the Clinton Foundations Bogota office, has invested in telecom and food processing companies in Colombia, the Free Beacon reported last November.
Another Clinton Foundation company, Acceso Worldwide Fund, Inc., was registered in 2013 by the Corporation Services Company, located in Wilmington, Delaware.
A third company, the Haiti Development Fund, LLC, was registered in 2010 by National Corporate Research, Ltd, located in Dover.
