12. Wife and I have been registered Dems for 34 years ...

and have received plenty of calls over the years from Dem candidates, but NEVER a con, until this election. We have received at least 5 Rmoney calls. We let the answering machine get them and laugh at the messages and the folly of contacting us later (and all the caller IDs are always marked "private", unlike the Dems, where you get their number). I guess it's the voting with an absentee ballot that has prompted them. Obama has ignored us this election cycle (and we even donated $), but they've gone hard and heavy over our 20 and 25 yr old daughters. Calling, sending letters, and brochures to their attention.

Keeps them from calling someone else...and at the end of the conversation, I thank them and tell them I will be voting for Obama...again. (Or in the case of a call from a Craig Huey RW caller...I wait 'til the end and tell them, "Heuy can go fuck himself.&quot

13. I haven't been getting any Republican calls...

...and I live in the swing state of Iowa--and I'm a registered Republican!

In the past month, I don't think that I've got one live call from a Republican asking me to volunteer or to make sure that I'm registered. I did get a couple of robo calls, that I hung up on.

I have, however, received calls from Obama For America, asking me who I was supporting and if I knew where to vote. The guy knew exactly where I needed to go and asked me if I needed any assistance. He also asked me if I wanted to volunteer for the Obama campaign and I said yes.

I got a follow-up call from a friendly Obama staffer within 24 hours.

It's a well-oiled machine, I tell you!
