(36,437 posts)The trade off is this: you can vote in any early voting station, full stop. Any of them. You do not have to vote in your home precinct. But, because only your home precinct has the capacity to signature verify you on the spot, early voting requires a gov issued photo ID.
I am glad Obama had to show his photo ID. I had to show mine when I voted this morning, and the President is no different from the average citizen.
