Perhaps I'm being too sensitive

Here's a current headline in the NYT: Bernie Sanders Already Turning His Attention to Pennsylvania - http://www.nytimes.com/live/new-york-primary-2016/bernie-sanders-already-turning-his-attention-to-pennsylvania/

Am I being sensitive? As I read that headline, I infer negativity, i.e., Sanders is giving up on NY, Sanders doesn't care about NY, NY is in Sanders' rear view mirror, etc.

What do they want him to do? Hang around? If he wins, he can celebrate and be interviewed in PA. If he loses, well, he loses. Shit happens. It's not as if this is the general election. There are numerous states where primaries have yet to be held. Of course he's going to move on to those states to maximize his presence on the ground.

Or I'm just whining and see anti-Bernie sentiment and Sanders Derangement Syndrome everywhere.

They stick around for a speech. The momentum alone would make it worth it.

" If he wins, he can celebrate and be interviewed in PA. If he loses, well, he loses. Shit happens."

We are kind of past the "shit happens" phase.

They have done that with every primary. Jesus on a pogo stick, serious. We were checking returns in San Diego at the press pit while recording the speech. I guess those of us not playing gotcha noticed a while ago. Iirc the only exception was VT, but do not quote me please.

"turning attention to" does not imply anything negative except what you are reading into it.

It was "already," as if he were done with NY, that he couldn't be bothered to stick around. Probably petty, but it bugged me.

up to bat when the results come, because if you win, when you give your thank you speech there, it helps genearate enthusiasm in that next state, especially if it's at a televised rally in front of tens of thousands of people! If you lose, well, you are already where you need to be.

I can't tell if you're being 'over-sensitive' to it, though, cos it really could be meant either way. Funny how we all, as humans, can read things differently.

I saw this WaPo Headline

New York primary: Clinton and Trump look to cement front-runner status

And then looked at link
clinton-and-trump-hope-ny-primary-cements-their-front-runner-status

And thought. Hey, why'd they change "hope ny primary cements" to "look to cement"? To make it sound more like "it's curtains for Bernie"?

Than I thought. Hey, you're reading to much into this shit. It's trivial compared to some of the more blatantly damaging memes the media noise machine has pushed.

and he's starting off with "I think we can win Pennsylvania."

It's not terribly confident.

But we'll know in a week.
