There's a "satire" site with a story about voting machines switching votes

Be aware.

It's sneaky and scammy, it's called huffingtonpost.com.co

Note the scammy name. There is a disclaimer saying it's a "satire" site, which I guess is designed to prevent them from getting sued for publishing outright false stories as if they were the real HuffingtonPost.

So far that story has been posted here twice as the gospel truth. Squinch Apr 2016 #1
Considering we use optical scan, that would be an amazing thing, indeed n/t Godhumor Apr 2016 #2
There is nothing to prevent optical scan machines from being programmed to produce desired winner. -none Apr 2016 #3

You fill out the paper ballot and it gets fed into the scanner. All it says is your vote has been tallied. It does not show your selections.

After the polls close they either remove a memory card or attach a computer and up load all the vote totals. Those scanners are the reason why you have the results on the 10 O'clock news that evening.

The parody story is that costs are claiming they dar the machines switch their votes. We don't use the kind of machines where voters see their electronic results.
