If Clinton doesn't win New York by 70 percent, she's toast! (Original Post) Armstead Apr 2016 OP
Bernie won the state he represents 86.1% to 13.6% merrily Apr 2016 #1
And that state has fewer people than several New York counties. Zynx Apr 2016 #2

New York is a huge and diverse one.

I could just as easily say that it's telling that he got blown out of the water in a big diverse state like Florida, which is neutral ground for both of them.

On home turf with a monolithic electorate, yeah, he does just fine. Vermont isn't very representative of much.

That you can't see the logic in that is kind of striking. I guess we want to extrapolate from a 97% white state with 0.2% of the U.S. population how these candidates will do. That's madness.

For example, there are small general fund tax sources in Wisconsin where periodically we'll have 800% increases over the prior year because the underlying base is in the hundreds of thousands.

Meanwhile, if we have a 1% decline in individual income taxes, that means a lot more because the base is much bigger.

Vermont is a pathetically small state with 300,000 fewer people than Milwaukee County, Wisconsin and it is a monolithic state, too. It's not unheard of to see outcomes like what we saw in Vermont.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I work with numbers as a living. I'm allergic to selective BS like what you're spewing.

to salvage her campaign's legitimacy; she lost the last 7 out of 8 primaries; her campaign is teetering on the brink of disaster.

any win less than 20% means she's still in big trouble

demographics and caucuses. I predicted long in advance that he'd win all of the states he won in this streak.

When he lost 5/5 on the 15th after getting blown out on the 1st, I don't recall seeing you say, "Well, that's it for Bernie." Those 5 states had more people, by the way, than all of the states he's won so far.
