But there is no tax on stock sales?
Millions of dollars can easily be raised by having a simple small sale's tax placed on stocks.
The only reason there is not such a simple fair tax is because the 1% won't allow even a 1% tax on stock sales.
Bernie is gonna change that. Well, us and Bernie.

(1,772 posts)sales tax is a consumption tax. Stocks are not bought and sold for consumption. Note that there is no sales tax on real estate either, which is not bought and sold for consumption.
