So much for those inroads.

(8,352 posts)Only 29% of Democratic voters in NY voted.
Even with those breakdowns, there is no GE win without more enthusiasm and leftist support.
Clinton won't get that from independents. She will get some LOTE voters in the party. She won't have the numbers to win.
It won't matter how many minorities vote then.

She will be the President.

(8,352 posts)Y'all keep chirping away at that. And yet then you deny it when it doesn't suit the agenda.

(1,537 posts)I've heard it's only 20% in New York City.
Also, I have no idea what point your trying to make. Low turnout elections don't count?

(53,787 posts)Those days are long gone.
Romney won a huge majority of the white vote in 2012 and lost handily.
The Obama coalition Latino Americans, African Americans, women, gays, Asian Americans, Native Americans, other POCs and the progressive whites won in '08 and '12 for Obama and will win for Clinton in '16.
The country has changed.
TM99
(8,352 posts)Do you think it is just angry whites voting for Sanders?
Psst some of us PoC aren't falling for the Clinton propaganda.
Latinos and women voters are now on the rise for Sanders. That's math. Sorry it bursts your bubble.
Clinton will not get the Obama coalition. She will not get those same demographics in the same numbers he did. He sold Hope & Change with great aplomb. Clinton is selling More of the Same.
brush
(53,787 posts)Sorry about that, we've pivoted now to the general election.
We're talking about how to beat the repugs now not rehashing losses.
Only in y'all minds has the pivot to the general begun.
She netted at most 31 delegates. Nothing dramatic has changed. This is the same bullshit y'all have preached since the primary began. No one is buying it.

(8,352 posts)Clinton will implode on her own as she always does.
brush
(53,787 posts)Clinton is way ahead and will cruise into the convention with an even bigger lead than she has now.
There will be no implosions and no super delegates switching to Sanders (way behind in pledged delegates) as Weaver and Devine keep conning Sanders supporters with so they keep sending money.
And btw, did you know Devine's firm is drawing down 800k per month so of course he wants Sanders to keep going as long as possible. Weaver is also making a boatload so they have a huge incentive to keep him going until the convention. Not so pure, huh?
TM99
(8,352 posts)Why am I not surprised.
Do the delegate math, she will not reach the magically needed number by the convention. It will be decided by the SD's then. Period.

show she netted 31 delegates. That's hardly a stunning victory!

(26,060 posts)delegate math. It's okay. It' seems to be a problem for all the Bernie supporters. Don't worry, you'll reach that final stage of acceptance after Bernie loses all 5 states next week. Or you wont. Wont matter a damn.
By the way - a 16% point victory after promising a win is an ASS KICKING.
lmbradford
(517 posts)Bernie picked up more than that this week alone in State caucus delegates. We are on the same trajectory as before. But she has no more FIREWALLS or HOME states.
DemocratSinceBirth
(99,710 posts)Actually estimates are 31 net delegates:

Bernie is DONE. If this was a boxing match Tad Decline would be throwing in the towel.

(53,787 posts)She got nearly half a million more votes in NY than Trump:
Clinton 1,054,083 votes
Trump 524,932 votes
Any questions?

(24,544 posts)Not that it will do anything for the special folks who keep accusing us of being low information voters one day and then screaming for our votes the next. Who keep hollering that Sanders is "chipping away" at Clinton's minority support one week and then screaming that we have Stockholm Syndrome when that new found "support" ONCE AGAIN melts away to nothing.
Even in a thread that says 64% of Latinos voted for Clinton, some are still acting as though Sanders has made a dent in her Hispanic support. It would be hilarious if it weren't so incredibly stupid.

(1,729 posts)... And the support it got even after the author of it was banned, and given that this attitude has probably gone much further than this website, I'm surprised he got as many minority votes as he did. It was really insulting.

(47,209 posts)but there is a shitty wrinkle, there is also an American Independent Party- a racist RW party, and it is estimated 3/4 four people who registered for it think it is the regular Indy party. But the regular Indy party can't vote in the primary either, so maybe they should have looked it up. Because now they are likely voting for neo- Nazis.

(50,955 posts)was to ridicule and dismiss those who were stating that fact, to insist that there was no problem with poc, and to trot out a picture of Sanders in a student sit-in from the 60's. They actively refused to address the concerns of poc, or even to acknowledge that those concerns were legitimately separate from their pet, economic reform. After they did that for a while, they added the statement, "we ARE addressing the concerns of poc" to their repertoire, when in fact they were doing nothing of the sort.
They did not listen to constituents about what concerned those constituents because they were certain they knew better what those constituents should be thinking.
It was their own hubris that brought them down.
