2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSuggestion for my Fellow Sanders Supporters.
We are going to be on the short end of a bunch of negativeness from those who Support the Secretary.
Nothing at this point that they post here is going to move anyone who reads this places vote at this time.
At least not enough to matter. So, I would suggest not even checking the Board for a few days until the Gloating slows a little.
They want to make you angry. They want to break your spirit. That is Politics! And at least on THIS forum and from the Polling I've Noticed, there are probably 2-3 times the Amount of Sanders Supporters on this board than those who support the latter.
When a political board that I've been on for longer than my profile suggest , I have never seen so many people revel at the disenfranchised. The Arguments are the same arguments we always hear back from the Right when we complain about voter disenfranchisement. They should have all known long ago and jumped through the unnecessary hoops and check their status blah blah blah... There is this weird phenomenon where for some reason those whose candidate benefited the most by certain institutional rules seem to be more okay with the way things run and those whose candidate they hurt somehow realize how fucked up things are.
Democracy these days is a Con job. But, Vote people.
If you can't vote for the nominee, than vote down ticket dems, but vote.
And I can't stress enough how much happier we all will be if we let the Peacocks display their feathers among themselves while we can
do things to help win the next round.
Continue to BERN!

(4,973 posts)People's lives are affected by the outcome of these elections. I really didn't expect Wall Street to love Sanders, but I don't understand anyone else outside of Manhattan giving a rat's butt about incremental corporate politics. Wonder if they will every wise up? Of course, I've been in the same mindset since that moron Reagan was elected.

(45,251 posts)Any American, politician or lay person, Democrat or Republican, who supports, or glories in, or is grateful for, disenfranchisement or other shenanigans at caucuses or primaries, has really lost his or her way.
Nothing such people post about anything can possibly upset me in any way or to any degree about any subject.
Those who do not enjoy my equanimity should either be wary of bait and/or take a voluntary vacay, perhaps using the time to phone bank or canvass for Bernie, or to earn some extra $$ to donate to Bernie.

(1,729 posts)... Since it seems to be the Sanders supporters using their majority here to diligence opposition by shouting people down and manipulating the jury system to block people from posting, yes, I'm going to gloat.

(4,973 posts)I just don't think the Hillary supporters can come up with many good rebuttals to her political whims blowing toward the money interests in our system.

(1,729 posts)Anytime there's a poll on GDP that involves anything Hillary versus Bernie, there are far, far more votes for Bernie than Hillary on that poll. Given the tone here, it's highly unlikely that Hillary supporters would be voting for Bernie on a poll here and vice versa for the Bernie supporters. That is the best and easiest way to tell.
But if you want to be uber-specific, do a poll in GDP asking who folks support, Bernie or Hillary, and I guarantee you he scores way more than she does because this site skews far more for him. It's certainly not 2/3 Hillary as the OP suggests.
I just did a non-scientific poll in the field:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511802393
It's been up three minutes and there are two votes for Hillary (one of which is me!) and twelve for Bernie at 86%.
No Sanders majority?
Even with a non-scientific poll, clearly this is painting a picture for you.

(300 posts)This is when I love coming to the boards. I absolutely love the uncomfortable squirming reaction of Hillbots when I tell them that their candidate is a fraud. They know damn well that we're taking this fight to Philadelphia and it burns their dark hearts when somebody who back in 1976 just couldn't help but run home from Kindergarten grinning from ear to ear to tell his mother that Jimmy Carter had just been elected President tells them that Hillary Clinton has not earned my vote.
I live for moments like this.
See you in Philly.

Trust me, Hillary's hollow victory in NY isn't going to break my spirit.

(4,973 posts)The stakes are too high. As Hillary picks up too many delegates, I sit wondering how we will influence her penchant for giving away more jobs, political influence and financial consumer protections like her husband did. Oh yeah, he'll be right next to her so you might as well elect him too.

(4,522 posts)Is that it's not (just) about Bernie. What Bernie has awakened and brought together is stunning. If he wins, great. If not - there's millions of people who have learned that there are OTHER millions of people who want real change. And that they DO have the power. It may take more time. But unlike obama's and DNC's dismantling of the grass roots organization back in 2012 - I think that there's going to be a continued push to the left.
The h-bots can laugh it up, worship 'her', put us on ignore (kinda like hrc does), and post lines of 'LOLs'. But eventually they'll look around and find that the company they keep is more akin to the bankers, corporations, and other powers that be.
In any case - don't give up. There is much more to accomplish. It was never going to be easy, but the inevitability of change is finally in the air.
