The chart is true. No joke. I mean, IF you're interested in facts rather than fiery rhetoric, that is.

(31,518 posts)They were not allowed to vote in a closed primary yesterday, but those rules have been in place for years. The political parties of each state determine the rules, not the candidates.
BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)they wanted to vote in closed primary States. The Sanders campaign dropped the ball on that. That responsibility lies with them, not the DNC.
Primaries are elections that political Parties hold in order to choose their candidate for the General Election. Some Republican States don't even hold caucuses and primary elections, and simply choose amongst themselves who they want for the General Election. At least the Democratic Party holds caucuses and primary elections in all 50 States, giving Democratic voters an opportunity to choose our candidate for the G.E.
Independents are incensed that they can't have their cake and eat it, too.
Independents have a choice to make in the G.E. Either they vote for the Democratic Party candidate or they vote for the Republican Party candidate. Those are the only choices. And they need to keep in mind, staying home, angry, and not vote at all is still a vote. This is how it's been done for decades.

(17,064 posts)...I guess she's pretty used to being wrong. It doesn't appear she ever considers the logical ramifications of her bad decisions....just blames it on others.

(30,481 posts)It is nice being in Clintons corner as she dismisses no one except those on the right. She fights for every single vote.
BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)That was a politically BAD move on his part, and it cost him the Democratic Party nomination.

(15,438 posts)The case:
Bernie Sanders at the April 14 debate: "Look, let me acknowledge what is absolutely true. Secretary Clinton cleaned our clock in the Deep South. No question about it. We got murdered there. That is the most conservative part of this great country. Thats the fact."
Was he referring to "Deep South" White voters? Do "Deep South" White voters vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party, and are they the reason Hillary "cleaned their clock" in the aforementioned "Deep South"?
Of course not. Facts don't bear that out.
Here's a fact that does: Hillary won the Black vote overwhelmingly in the "Deep South", by 60+ percentage points.
Here's another fact: the typical Southern Democrat of 2016 is black; the typical Southern Democratic voter is a black woman in middle age.
The conclusion:
So bringing up the "deep South" is a term is Sanders himself, not me, used and if you find something "ugly" in that term, it's you, not me.
And yes...it's over.

(13,340 posts)But I also am not inclined to support their candidate just because they threaten to walk out if I don't. I support my candidate not to spite them, but because I believe she is the best choice.
