If Tad Devine counsels Bernie to destroy the Democratic Party

He can forget about running future campaigns for Democrats-He is still relatively young and he stands to get many lucrative contracts based on the success he's had with Bernie. That is one reason he's on TV saying they will ratchet down the nasty rhetoric. Another reason is it didn't work anyway-it actually had the opposite effect and contributed to the blowout in NY. Bernie's brand is the lovable grandpa with the crazy hair- not the nasty, bitter attacking old guy that Devine/Weaver encouraged him to become in the last few weeks.
