Related: About this forumWho Should be Hillary's VP?
I hope she goes with Cory Booker.
I don't think the Castro brothers have the experience on the national stage.

(8,758 posts)They are very aligned. Both quite liberal. I'd love seeing Franken on the campaign trail riffing and getting people laughing. He's serious about his work, but knows when to crack a joke to break tension. I think that would be pretty effective.

(626 posts)out, and that he was the epitome of a corporate friendly Democrat.
Nothing since has changed my mind about this, and while I would much rather he be that and be a Democrat as in I know he is good on social issues, I think we need more progressive policies in the future.
The lower middle class and poor simply arent going to tolerate the income inequality forever, dont you think?

(31,170 posts)I like Booker
Have been looking in to Sherrod Brown and Jay Inslee
Ideally, I'd like someone from the West, NW
Someone with good progressive cred
Someone who is really solid in one of Hillary's signature goal areas, like energy, infrastructure rebuilding, etc

(13,218 posts)On the other hand I feel perfectly satisfied in Hillary's judgement. Even if I had a preference, I would prefer her choice (not even knowing who that would be).

(11,076 posts)History does tell a sorry and we would be fools not to learn from it. We need to make certain that whoever we put up is bullet proof. I'm not saying that she's not the one but the last Clinton Presidency was one attack after the other.

(50,278 posts)The one thing I've noticed about Hillary supporters is the inability or unwillingness to see her negatives. Maybe we'll get lucky and she'll choose Warren for Veep.

(4,311 posts)Musts:
1. Young enough to run in 8 years
2. NOT from the Senate, as we can't afford to lose any Dem Senators
3. Will energise supporters
Preferences:
1. Someone who balances the ticket geographically - from the west, Midwest, or southwest.

(2,097 posts)You highlight what a crap job the DNC has done of building the party. We've got no one who both fits that bill and is actually qualified to step into the presidency at a moment's notice, which the VP needs to be. We're very weak on non-sextigenarian leadership -- much weaker than the GOP.

(71 posts)I do know it won't be Sanders or Elizabeth Warren....If Bernie can't win the nomination than the Dems really need him in the senate for those critical votes....So I think she better tread carefully.......
However, I think if Bernie stays in to the end to keep his movement going even if he loses....and perhaps retire. I hope not. He is a breath of fresh air......

(9,688 posts)She would be POTUS so could curb Kasich's "wild side", while Kasich would rake in all those moderate Republican votes, which together with Clinton's moderate Democratic votes would sweep the USA.
It would be heaven for moderates of all walks of life and there would be peace on earth and good will toward all humankind.

(1,537 posts)I'd love to see Elizabeth Warren picked, but two women on the bill might be an issue for a future run (voters who think "we've already had a woman, lets try something different". Dumb, but possible).
