Some (hopefully balanced) thoughts on Hillary Clinton, from a Bernie supporter

Yesterday, I proudly cast my vote for Bernie Sanders in the New York primary. I remain committed to supporting him until the primaries are over and everyone has had the chance to vote.

That said, I acknowledge that there is a very high chance that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee. So as I come to terms with that, I am going to lay out how I feel about her, why she wasn’t my first choice now or in 2008, and why I won’t have trouble voting for her in November.

I will start with the negatives and then do the positives:

Also a Bernie supporter. I believe it's essential that Bernie stay in through the convention (why below). But I will also be supporting Hillary.

Like you I think Sanders is the best option but Clinton will do fine also. I wonder how many like us are on here?

And I think it's people like us who may eventually have to call on our fellow Bernie supporters to support her if she wins the nomination. That's why I think the Hillary supporters calling for her to drop out are doing her no favors by alienating people.

No. If someone tells me what to do, I tend to want to do the exact opposite just for spite.

People will do what they will, as they should. Let them.

We're not talking about a lot of dumb, easily-swayed people.

I am just saying that calls for Bernie to quit have no credibility coming from people who never supported him in the first place.

connections and arms deals are very problematic as well as her judgement with the email server, etc.

I just figured those fall under some of my other categories re. too close to big corporate interests and too hawkish. I didn't want to make it too negative.
