Related: About this forumDavid Plouffe Tweet: "raising $$ stating you have path to nomination is fraud.”
<snip>
Sanders has run a stunningly strong campaign fueled by passionate supporters, David Plouffe, Mr. Obamas former campaign manager, wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. But raising $$ stating you have path to nomination is fraud.
Mr. Devine of the Sanders campaign responded: Fraud is a hard word to put out there. I respect David, but I dont believe were lying or being fraudulent in saying we think we still have a path to the nomination.

(3,655 posts)It's worth it just to get his message out and it proves that you don't have to sell out to be competitive. This drives the sellouts crazy.

Go Bernie!!

(4,221 posts)in Philly the entire week of the National Convention -- since they will be there in large numbers. Somewhere between 1200 and 1900 populist progressive Bernie delegates will be there, will be attending every meeting, will be vocal and won't run out for photo ops and cocktail parties, and who will push for more aggressively progressive planks and DNC agendas.
THAT is what I am interested in.
Read the platform we have now. There is just a sentence or two each about jobs, the economy, civil rights, marriage equality, equal pay, etc -- practically the whole thing is paragraph after paragraph about foreign policy, about having a strong military presence over the world and a global economy.
On balance, it reads like a pro-foreign interventionist and fiscal Republican wrote it.

(9,314 posts)Just ask the 25 percent of the Republicans who vote for him in Vermont. It is this reputation the Clinton campaign is ruthlessly trying to attack since her reputation as someone who could be trusted has sunk in the polls. Sinking Sanders' reputation would neutralize that problem. Typical political play but unfortunately it will not work in this case. His reputation has already been established over the long haul.
His supporters know exactly the situation, so we choose to continue our donations.

At least no one from Camp Sanders brought up Kennedy's assassination. I'd REALLY be horrified.

(517 posts)Obama was farther behind at this same point in the election and managed to make up the deficit. What has happened to this man? Sick sick sick. I know because I was there raising money for Obama and fighting Clinton then in the same way that I am now. This statement puts me in shock......totally pathetic.

I hope for the sake of our party that I am wrong, but going into the GE with that and the other albatross of the insecure email server around her neck, it won't be a walk in the park if she's our nominee.

Sending misleading cards out to send them to

Not opening those sites, but two hours later?
We know what is happening, and what happened
during the whole process in this caucus/ primary
election. Unfortunately the general public does
not even know, what caging means.

(27,814 posts)And as long as the money keeps coming in, there's no way Devine is going to end this farce.
Is he deliberately lying to people in order to bilk them out of their cash? Absolutely.
But he's now in the same realm as TV evangelists who promise eternal salvation in exchange for donations. In other words, if there are people willing to hand over money to snake-oil salesmen promising them miracles, those salesmen stay in business.

Anything can still happen. David Plouffe is an establishment hack with bullshit for an opinion. He's lying by calling it fraud. The path may be very unlikely but Bernie isn't out yet.
I'll keep donating. thank you for your concern....

(8,352 posts)is a fucking asshole.
Hillary must have been a fraud in 2008 because she ran many months after Obama had it sewn up. She was still spewing racist (Bobby Kennedy died!) comments right up to the bitter end.
Wasn't she a fraud too? Did she not raise money when there was obviously no way she was going to win?
Hypocrisy must be a virtue and a job prerequisite in the upside-down world of the Clinton Machine.
