Sanders can still win: 1400 delegates left to win (Original Post) kgnu_fan Apr 2016 OP
Sanders needs all but 257 of those left, now does it seem reasonable he will get 1143 Thinkingabout Apr 2016 #1
No, he needs about 819 out of 1400, or 58.5%, in order to have won a majority of pledged delegates. eomer Apr 2016 #3

22. The 1400 that you referred to is the number of pledged delegates remaining out of the total 4051.

Apr 2016

Of the total 4051 pledged delegates, the current count is:
Hillary: 1444
Bernie: 1207
Total: 2651

So with 2651 allocated so far there are (4051 - 2651 = 1400) remaining to be allocated by way of future Democratic primaries.

A majority of the 4051 delegates is 2026. Bernie therefore needs (2026 - 1207 = 819) more delegates in order to have a majority.

So Bernie needs to get 819 out of the remaining 1400 delegates, which is 58.5%.

Perhaps in the party primary you are talking your figures may be correct but not in the DNC primary. Maybe Hillary and the GOP nominee will be running in an election with the winner of the primary you are talking.

It will be kind amusing to watch the post toasties of the democratic party in November.

To get enough PLEDGED delegates, she would need to get over 68% of remaining delegates.

And wow, I just noticed, this must be one of those threads that puts a bee under the bonnet of the Hillary supporters because I am the 12th comment but I can only see mine and one other.

We need to start expecting more from our candidates. A precedent should be set: Third Way apparatchiks get monkey-wrenched.

If it's Hillary, they should go with Bernie.

That's why the goalpost in pledged delegates for Bernie is 2026 and for Clinton is 2383.

If Hillary has more pledged delegates then the supers should do what is best for the party and vote for Bernard

If Hillary has fewer pledged delegates then the supers should do the right thing and vote with the majority - which favors Bernard

Because....Hillary is corrupt and mean and petty, and wears bad clothes, and cackles, and BILLIONAIRES!

Fuck no. You play until you either win or lose.

There are 1400+ delegates up for grabs...

And, I'll bet that if neither candidate has the sufficient number of delegates,
the Super Delegates will be allocated to Sanders.

The Democratic Party better wise up. Sanders is the real deal - not Clinton.
There is no way Americans will vote for Clinton to become president.
