(329 posts)The ads can't possibly be having an affect anymore.
*EDIT: Besides the "Stage" Ad...that one is brutal.

(329 posts)Supposedly the most effective ad this election according to focus groups
What a powerful ad. It actually made me tear.
The Obama campaign should bring that AD here to FL now!
Poor guy. And to think it's not false. Romney did that. It's really depressing to see Anericans shooting Romney.

(9,791 posts)It was devastating and might have made a huge difference to PA voters.

(11,417 posts)Politically it was ok in the 50's and 60's when I was growing up. Ok for white males. Most worked in factories and voted Dem.
Then the Civil Rights movement, the woman's movement and the anti war movement challenged the hold white males had on things. Then the factories shut down in the 80's and poor whites from the South migrated north because they lost their land to rising property taxes.
The people from the south brought their fundementalism and right leaning views.
They took over the politics and the original white males joined them. They voted for Reagan and blamed women, minorities, and gays for their problems.
I left in 1981 to move to Los Angeles.

(233 posts)We can take it. Besides, every dollar they spend here, they don't have it to spend in some other state. Ohio is going blue big time. We are in balls to the wall GOTV mode till the polls close.

I mute them...I bet most around the country do...what a waste of money, who do they think actually watches them?

Seems to be the worst during morning news.
Makes me want to stay in bed and listen to the

(3,333 posts)The air game can only carry a campaign so far.
If you don't have a good ground game, your air game is meaningless.
Obama's got game.

(11 posts)Virginia also has non-stop political ads. I just saw five in a row in one commercial break! Such an inefficient system! $2 billion from the presidential alone that could go to cancer research or education.

(69 posts)I mean, with so many things over the internet, and cable for movies, I'm surprised TV ads amount to anything.

(131 posts)Nothing but wall to wall ads. I tune them out most of the time, but I laugh at some of the Romney ones. Right now I am looking for a new cable/Internet provider since mine, Armstrong Cable saw fit to donate to that liar Romney's campaign. Seems as if we are getting twice the amount of Liar's ads. The President and Clinton will be here on Monday afternoon. I am going to the rally with my daughter, my nine year old grandson, and about ten co-workers. Feeling great here even with the ad assault.

(103 posts)... nary a political add in sight.
More Democrats living in Ohio would be a good thing, so regret that you don't live here too! We need a big influx of free-choice jayhawks to push back the rising red tide demographic!

(5,417 posts)The only saving grace is that I live in Cincinnati, which means all television stations broadcast into Ky, and IN, which are both solid red states. So only 50-60% of people watching are in Ohio. The downside is I also see a lot of commercials for Ky politicians.
