"Don't let them suck your fun circuits dry."

Last edited Fri Apr 22, 2016, 03:46 AM - Edit history (3)

Jennifer Epstein @jeneps

Woman tells Hillary Clinton: "don't let them suck your fun circuits dry."

Clinton: "I think that sounds like a pretty good campaign slogan."

...I found the original quote which contains the correct word, 'circuits' instead of 'circus,' as the quote I posted had written. (no excuse for the riducule in the responses, but it was my mistake not noting the context.)

Clinton Holds Emotional Town Hall With Family Members of Sandy Hook Victims

Marquez-Greene... spoke about her daughter, Ana Grace, who was killed in Sandy Hook. “One of the things my daughter said to me before she died was, ‘Don't let them suck your fun circuits dry, Mom,'” she said, turning to Clinton. "On this journey, Madame Secretary, to the White House, because that is where you are going, I encourage you. We are praying for you. And don't let them suck your fun circuits dry."

Mother of Sandy Hook Victim Wrote This Letter to Teachers

Nebla Marquez-Greenhad is the mother of two children that attended Sandy Hook Elementary; they were both present the day of the shooting, but tragically her daughter Ana Grace was killed in the massacre. Her letter, which was posted on the Education Week website, is so powerful. It goes out to all teachers...

I lost my 6-year-old daughter Ana Grace on Dec. 14, 2012, in the rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School. My son, who was in the building and heard the shooting, survived.

While waiting in the firehouse that day to hear the official news that our daughter was dead, my husband and I made promises to ourselves, to each other, and to our son. We promised to face the future with courage, faith, and love...

A few weeks before the shooting, Ana Grace and I shared a special morning. Lunches were packed and clothes were picked out the night before, so we had extra time to snuggle. And while I lay in bed with my beautiful caramel princess, she sensed that I was distracted and asked, “What’s the matter, Mom?” I remember saying to her, “Nothing, baby. It’s just work.” She looked at me for a very long time with a thoughtful stare, then she told me, “Don’t let them suck your fun circuits dry, Mom.”

As you begin this school year, remember Ana Grace. Walk with courage, with faith, and with love. And don’t let them suck your fun circuits dry."

"Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it."

Saying something like that actually would encourage me to vote for her. A bit of existentialism would do her good, rather than her hamfisted accrual of state power.

"but it's hard to make a pick for the most vapid..."

My vote is for: "Sounds about as vapid as her other slogans" which seems to accurately fit the definition of 'vapid' much more than the sub-literate, lacking the relevant, basic education are able to perceive.

Irony is most entertaining when unintended.

after watching people pour their hearts out, and come together to as a community to work towards solutions. I am glad I have used the time out option wisely.

There was only one lady from the Sandy Hook shooting on the panel, the others were impacted by other gun violence, and the one man on the panel had pulled himself out of a very bad way of life, and was now helping others at risk.

And she approved the sale of billions of dollars of guns and other weapons to places like Saudi Arabia. And she supported using guns for regime change in Iraq and Libya.
