In the Strip Clubs of Joy Reid’s Mind... Why We’re Done With MSNBC

We were never big fans of Rachel Maddow. To us she comes across as the Brady Bunch’s housekeeper on Dexedrine. Opening each show with an off point 47-minute “tutorial” that she and her self-reverential staff treat as the most profound insights since Herodotus chose Persia as a topic.

What pushed us completely over the edge was her absolutely deliberate misrepresentation of Bernie Sanders’ response to Trump’s obscene “punishment for women” abortion comments. She went running back to Hillary Clinton for a comment faster than Ann B. Davis sharing the latest gossip with Sam The Butcher.

Yet even Maddow’s didactic yammering is preferable to the cackling adulation with which she showers Brian “Pseudo-Pith” Williams. Williams, who is unqualified for any television work beyond extolling the virtues of Rodent Sheriff, truly loves him some him. He is to journalism what Edward R. Murrow was to the spit take. Watching Maddow match her facial expressions to whatever banal dreck cascades from Williams’ gob is like watching the Huntley-Brinkley Report as done by Wayland Flowers and Madame.

Then there’s Chris Matthews, who has never employed a thought for any other purpose than to get to the end of a sentence. Though the tip jar on his desk for contributions to the wife’s campaign is certainly a novel touch. There’s Mrs. Greenspan, stenographer to the liquid. There’s the once great Chris Hayes, who, like something out of Kafka, awoke one day to discover he’s Morton Kondracke.
...

Like Hillary does with her voters.
Maddow really breaks my heart. I once believe she had integrity and stood for my values.
But that was stupid.
She is just as bad as Chris Matthews who almost needed a fainting couch with his fawning of George Bush landing on the Carrier
with the Mission Accomplished sign.

and it's obvious. There was a time she remained an objective truth seeker, critical of Obama on many levels. But she must have gotten the same hate mail anyone who has the audacity to question Obama here receives. Message received, loud and clear. Those pieces are gone and to be forever forgotten. She got Fox'd. Though I continued to watch her, I lost respect for Rachel years ago.

Up with Chris Hayes was fantastic. As soon as I learned they were moving Ed to put Chris and Rachel back to back, I got an uneasy feeling. He started right here in Chicago and moved onto The Nation before landing a gig at MSNBC. "Gee, what will become of Chris now now that he's buttressed against Rachel?" He started living down to my expectations, so I stopped watching him months ago. Rachel? Meh, whatever. I can still watch her when she's not promoting Hillary and slighting Bernie because my expectations have been low for years. Chris, however, is really bumming me out and I simply can't watch him. If he's actually supportive of Bernie and asking tough questions of Hillary, I wouldn't know. Now that Ed's gone, everyone is a disappointment (Lawrence comes on too late so I haven't watched him during the primary).

Let's define a Rhodes Scholar, progressive, and great promoter as a TV housekeeper from the seventies. Maddow just needs to get to the cooking and laundry.

It is simply sexist to use the tireless work women often do at home as a negative. It's just as demeaning to the target.

I have long tried to figure out the so-called brilliance so many people attribute to Rachel Maddow, who can spend 10 minutes flapping her arms and cocking her head and grinning while pontificating on something of no importance as if she just discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls. I'm glad to see somebody else noticed her adoring gazes at Brian Williams, which put Nancy Reagan's in the shade. The first time I saw her do it, I wondered if perhaps Brian had converted Rachel to the other team, but when it happened every time I realized it was yet another fake affectation from Maddow.

I look forward to the day MSNBC shuts down and all of them are fired.

They are Bernie Sanders supporters - which is completely fine, except rather than tell us why Bernie is their guy, they employ a scorched earth policy to anyone who doesn't embrace the "Bern" as much as they do.

Really a great example of how a Bernie Sanders' supporter takes away from the good messages of Bernie Sanders.

Everyone on MSNBC was great until they didn't agree with the Long Brothers. Now apparently they are horrible.

Not very persuasive in convincing me to listen to their position.

Fri Apr 22, 2016, 02:10 PM
Apr 2016

I've been trying to find a phrase since she started on MSNBC. She's the only one I never watch - not even tempted. Hayes, O'Donnell - still tempting but I've been off the dexedrine for a several years. I can't turn her off fast enough. I do painfully watch when Bernie or surrogate is on. And she devolves into absolute juvenile behavior - from gossipy trash immediately afterwards or just her usual sweet slime. That Maddow-fans can't see that is beyond me.

Williams professorial "I don't really know what I'm saying" monologues. He really needs a script. He's unwatchable as are MSNBC's post-debate panels. CNN does a good job there.

Matthews - he has devolved into outright lying. And people hear his lying as truth and bring it onto DU. Matthews- he who had a boy-crush on GWB. That's when I finally saw the light with Matthews.

Joy Reid, Kasey Hunt, and even my-most admired Andrea Mitchell have become unwatchable. But I still get tempted by O'Donnell and Hayes. I'm sorry for Hayes. He's a tool who isn't saying what he really believes. I think there's a good chance he voted Bernie.

Such blatant propaganda and expensive promotion for one candidate should have to be declared as financial support for Clinton. Why isn't it?
