2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI just voted in Maryland
It was the first day early voting was allowed. I had to stand in line about 1 1/2 hours, but it was worth it. One of the funny things was that there was somebody in the appropriate spot electioneering for Dan Bongino (republican candidate). She had a whole stack of brochures and flyers. I could see her most of the time I was waiting and during that time she handed out only one brochure. She was a very nice lady with an upbeat personality, but she was clearly getting discouraged. Too bad her thinking and loyalties are in the wrong place. Oh, and when I left, the line to vote was even longer than when I got in it.

(8,379 posts)I came out of the booth and went to the Obama table to hug the complete strangers who were crying and smiling as we made history together. I almost felt sorry for the sad McCain guy, he was so outnumbered and our enthusiasm was palpable.

(4 posts)I voted this morning...for Obama, of course. Had to wait about a half hour and also cast my vote for marriage equality. I'm phone banking tomorrow making calls to Virginia. What I like most about that is finding other Obama supporters in this very red county.
