Who Might Hillary Clinton's Running Mate Be if She's the Nominee?

Who Might Hillary Clinton's Running Mate Be if She's the Nominee?

"SNIP..............

Deval Patrick

Who he is: Governor of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2015.

What he could bring to the ticket: An African-American with strong executive experience, Mr. Patrick would bring diversity to the ticket and help drive support from minority voters. He also has close ties to the business world and an inspiring personal story of growing up in poverty in Chicago.

Why he might not be the best choice: Mr. Patrick would not help deliver a swing state, and could easily be tarred as another Massachusetts liberal. More problematic is the fact that in 2015 he became a partner at Bain Capital, the much-criticized private equity firm founded by Mitt Romney.

...Dick Cheney. What a team they'd make when it comes to war-mongering, cronyism, graft, secrecy, and domestic spying. She may not be totally down with torture at first, but she'll come around soon enough.

Hillary Clinton "actually differed with (John McCain) by arguing for exceptions for torture before changing positions."

I'd like to see some young, new blood. We need to develop a bench. What's the deal with New Mexico's Senator Martin Heinrich (sp). Admitedly, that can be a gamble because that's how we got Palin and Qualye

Not due of her age, but the intention of many republicans to impeach Hillary shortly after she takes office. Anyone who witnessed the Benghazi hearings, or anyone who knows how deeply the GOP partisans hate/detest/revile Ms. Clinton, understands that the GOP will explore every possible way to find her guilty of high crimes and misdeameanors. Only if the Dems retake the Senate will Hillary have a chance to survive an impeachment attempt.

It's often a mistake to nominate a young VP candidate. VP is a very important position in most Presidencies, and it requires a wide-range of well-developed skills.

It would be a mistake to raid the current Senate and Governorships for VP talent. Obama made a grievous error by picking standing Senators and Governors to fill his cabinet. We lost half a dozen of our most promising Senators and Governors, and our numbers remain sorely depleted as a result.

The choice should be a highly skilled FORMER Governor or Senator, or a former cabinet official), someone old enough to have the savvy and gravitas of a Joe Biden. Someone on the progressive side of the Party. Perhaps someone like O'Malley, although he's a bit of a lightweight compared to Biden.
