Bernie supporters blew it by not being registered Democrats

I love Bernie Sanders for years and was thrilled to hear he was running for president.

However I was extremely dismayed by people taking a pledge that they won't vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. To me that is enabling Trump/Cruz (Which ever is your worst nightmare).

And what we saw in New York, and what's probably been going on all over the country, is that many of Boerne supporters are "fed up with the Democratic Party" and therefore have registered as independence rather than Democrats.

Of course that means they can't vote for Bernie in states with closed primaries. How many more votes with Bernie have got if his supporters had just been more reasonable about things and registered as Democrats?

We will never know, but I hope is energize enthusiastic supporters realize they have to work within the system in order to change the system. Taking some kind of aloof moral high ground stance against the Democratic Party will only enable Republican candidates.

I agree that most of the candidates the Democratic Party don't come anywhere near the progressive ideals I'd like to see. However I think it self evident that well the Democrats may not do much for the country the Republicans will actively do damage to the country.

I wish Bernie had seen this coming and told his supporters registered Democrat so they could vote for him in the primaries. I also hope Bernie gives a stern talking to his supporters encouraging them to vote for Hillary if she receives the nomination. Without the vibrant massive base of Bernie supporters it's much more likely that will be having president Trump.

coalition (African Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Americans, women, gays, Native Americans, and sensible white progressives) and defeat the repugs just as we did in '08 and '12.

White votes only can no longer win the presidency anymore, as witnessed in '12 — Romney got a huge majority of the white vote and lost handily.

Ironic isn't it that white votes only can no longer win the presidency, nor the Dem nomination for president as it turns out as Sanders has won most of the mostly white states but trails badly in the Dem nomination race.

Democracy is not a spectator sport. You have to be ready to participate well in advance of an election.

back in October! Bernie hadn't even declared back then. I'm sure lots of them would have changed their registration is they could have.

The other thing are the closed primaries. That prevents ANY independents or even Pubbies from voting for the candidate they reaslly like. I understand the partisans (on both sides) saying that "if you're not part of our Party, why should you be allowed to pick OUR candidate?" The other side to that is at open primaries, the most popular candidate gets the votes, which gives them a better chance in the general.

on May 26, 2015. Anyone interested to vote for him had five months to make a decision to join the Democratic primary.

You also said that for states with open primaries, the most popular candidate gets the votes which gives them a better change in the general. Most of the South has open primaries and look who most of them voted for.

Not so much in NY where you're supposed to know all the rules before the State will let you vote. Pretty good strategy for voter suppression isn't it? All those stupid, tired, hard-working, people who didn't know you had to read the rules book to vote.

October 9th 2015 and changed their party registration from Democrat to Independent, then, after traveling back to the present, they ALL lied on their affidavit ballots about that?

Until they were caged. That is one example. AZ has a real honest lawsuit in play. I could go on. We have real issues, and they are likely a dress rehearsal for November. But you keep blaming voters

either follow them or suffer the consequences.
If someone cant register properly by the date needed perhaps they shouldn't
attempt something as complicated as drawing a line from a name to a box.
