(6,551 posts)Let's have a community vote for the BEST THREAD EVAH, and subtract each 'no' vote for this one, for every time Hillary has been called a corporate criminal, Minister of Death, too loud, immoral, evil, or abhorrent, and has a terrible sense of fashion, in a post.
We'd win going away!!!!! It would be a landslide!!!!

(8,311 posts)I want to be civil to the people who really do want to see him win. And it's too soon to see humor yet for many. People who I care about as fellow Democrats.
This position -- really believing in a candidate but just not seeing the math as workable isn't a fun one. I know. I was there myself.
I already voted, and had in 2008. It was a little easier. But this year they moved the primaries much further apart, overcorrecting IMHO from trying to fight 2008 over again when it has been eight years rather than out of bias.... but it's led to later primary states and people who want to vote for Bernie to feel disenfranchised.
I don't know if it's a good idea to have all primaries on the same days, because it doesn't let the candidates get to interact with people in the states. But it's yhe only idea I can think of to keep later-voting states from feeling like they don't get to take a meaningful part because of such high delegate leads already.
Skid Rogue
(711 posts)I have some sympathy with what you're saying. I honestly do. It's more difficult than usual because there's a lot of first time voters. But most people here have gotten their hearts broken on Nov 4th... more than once. Sometimes math is beautiful. Sometimes math sucks.
And I've always lived in crazy red states, or amazingly blue states. So, I've never really felt like my vote counted. It seems as if that's just part being in a Democracy with 300 million other people.
About the primary schedule -- If we all voted on a single day, I doubt Bernie would have won more than a couple of states. The lengthy processes plays to the advantage of lesser known candidates. In fact, later States have "mattered" a lot more this cycle than in previous elections. It's also been very good for Hillary. It would be "24/7 Trump TV" if we hadn't had a good healthy primary fight.
moriah
(8,311 posts)That's why I work my tail off for our nominee in ways that make more of a difference, like phone banking, etc.
I refuse to accept that I can do nothing just because our election system is whacky.

Hmm based upon the current trends HRC won't reach the required delegate count to get the nomination before the convention without the SDs which will vote at convention....
Proofing your work I see you all missed that... Hmmmmm
Gotta proof your work
I give ya an 'F' for your work but an 'A' for imagination!

(10,847 posts)It clearly states that all delegates - pledged and unpledged - vote with their state delegations. So....supers will propel her over the top faster than you can get to Wyoming.
