I would like to propose a new National Party rule:

No delegate shall be seated who is part of the actual elections apparatus. Meaning, no one who is involved officially on any polling place or in any elections room shall be allowed to be pledged delegate at least. I have a name for the rule, but I don't want to be disruptive. I am serious about this. Let's avoid some of these coast to coast unseemly events next time, please. We are embarrassing good party members with bad behavior.

7. Get elected as a national delegate and try

I volunteer at least once a cycle to be an election judge to make sure that I understand the process and I have been my county party's observer at the testing of machines before each election. Voter protection efforts work best when you know how the system work.

I have been in charge of war rooms for my county and other nearby counties for several election cycles. I encourage good democrats to volunteer to be election workers instead of being a poll watcher. A good democrat as an election worker can do far more to protect the vote than a poll watcher. BTW, my two daughters and my son in law were all election judges for the Texas March 1 primary. I am proud of their service.

I doubt that your motion or proposal has any chance. Your proposal would mean that we do not want good democrats to serve as election workers where they have the best opportunity to protect the vote.

It is a fun process. The candidates get approval rights over their delegates.

BTW, the hotel rooms in Philadelphia are not cheap.

We have to assign workers each election to work the elections. That is difficult to do finding workers willing to work those hours. This election on the Democratic side we had 266 positions to fill for 117 voting locations.

It is not easy to find election workers but these workers are by far the best way to protect the vote. My billable rate is significantly lower that the pay as an election judge but it is good way to make sure I know how the system works. I would prefer to have a good democrat work as an election worker compared to being a poll watcher

11. You do know that there is a way for people to participate

in the Convention Rules Committee, right? You have to become at least a delegate to the Nominating Convention. Those are chosen by the delegates at each state's convention in most cases. You get to be a delegate to Democratic state conventions by being a long-time active member of your state's Democratic Party.

Proposals for rule changes from outside of that organization are not read. We have a system in the Democratic Party for such things. If you want to participate, join the Democratic Party and become part of leadership.

Good luck in your progress as a Party leader.
