While the cost of college education in the US has reached record highs, Germany has abandoned tuition fees altogether for German and international students alike. An increasing number of Americans are taking advantage and saving tens of thousands of dollars to get their degrees.

(9,959 posts)...the use of basement in the question implies something more sinister than what actually occurred. It's like you're hiding something. I don't think that was the case at all. Also, the Clintons' "basement" is not likely to look like our basements. So, they question should be why did she use her personal server. Now, it seems less sinister. Possible for convenience? An, since it was the former President's property (?), perhaps she thought it was secure... probably it will end up more secure than the official server! Or, maybe she didn't think at all. I think the scandal is overblown... don't believe she's an enemy agent who knowingly passed top secret information for nefarious reasons. It certainly was an error, however.
berniepdx420
(1,784 posts)until a request went out for her emails.. and wow..they couldn't find them..even though they are government property ..the government didn't have possession of them and they unprecedentedly had to ask for 10s of thousands of government owned property back from the basement server
oh they were hiding something..
that's when she ordered her staff to erase over half of the emails..after they were requested by the State Department.. luckily the FBI was able to recover the emails she had erased
oh she was hiding something..
and now the investigation has taken on a new line of investigation.. Criminal Corruption ...
and you just want to ...

(3,089 posts)Most government office workers can now work from home using networking. A personal server is different and is probably much more secure. It was a mistake to for her to use this for work from the State Department, she has said that herself. However, she has also said that classified security information was only used on State Department government computers and servers.
With today's technology it is really difficult for any workers to not use networking at some point. However, the most "secure" government e-mail systems have already been hacked by the likes of Wiki-leaks, Snowden and a few others. There is no indication that anything HRC did on her server was hacked. Just speculation.

(7,830 posts)an analogy for the Clintons. Unless of course, their intention from the start, back in the DLC days, was to maintain their republican life view and enact republican policies under the cover of calling themselves "Democrats" and taking over the party to ultimately make it a RW party.

Have you seen the little piggies crawling in the dirt?
And for all the little piggies, life is getting worse... always having dirt To PLAY AROUND WITH....
Have you seen the BIGGER piggies in their starched white shirts?
You wil find the bigger piggies STIRRING UP the dirt... always have clean shirts to PLAY AROUND WITH!

(50,276 posts)her from any snooping if she decided to run for POTUS again. Talk about a backfire! There are supposedly 30,000 emails she claims are "personal" and were not included in the emails turned over. Apparently a judge is about to decide whether they are subject to FOIA or not. If those get released we'll probably find out what Hillary really thinks of some of her backers. LOL.

(50,276 posts)This is the big problem for Clinton. Everything was on a private server. She's claiming some emails were government emails and others were not. Who determines what is and isn't? Chances are the 30,000 she is claiming are private will end up being considered government records as well because they were all mixed together in the Clinton basement server.

(20,453 posts)... and nobody at the DNC said she couldn't.
