Just like other posters that use your strategy, everyone always knows they're not actually laughing at all. They're actually upset and think if they state they're "rofl" that people will believe they're actually "rofl"ing when they're not.
You're not "rofl" at all. You're upset and this is the only way you can deal with it...by announcing to everyone how hard you are "rofl"ing.
Nobody actually believes that, Duder. For you, it's more a daily affirmation than an actual truth.

Perhaps mildly amusing at best. And if you forced yourself to chuckle...for Christs sake recognize it as the forced laugh it is.

(3,014 posts)"Who is going to step up and apologize?"
Since the question is directed to everyone out there in general...it's about me and all the other Bernie supporters.
So again...is Janey expecting me to apologize for someone else's behavior? I don't know. But she's expecting one of us random Bernie supporters to do so. Am I the one she's expecting it from? You? Who? Either way she's expecting one from someone. Do you know who?
seabeyond

(3,014 posts)As Janey is looking for someone to apologize.
Again, who do you think owes Janey the apology?
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)I cannot speak for JaneyVee, but I would suggest that not a single person on DU expect Sanders supporters to own or take responsibility for an error.
Buddyblazon
(3,014 posts)That though I never made such a claim about the social media sites...that I should issue an apology for those that did? And though the campaign didn't either, do you think they should apologize for those supporters that did?
If apologys are now expected to be given out by people that had nothing to do with something...and you agree with this...are you now willing to apologize for the stuff that some Hillary supporters have said?
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)apologize or own their mistake. I do not think Sanders supporters have it in them.

(80,708 posts)And as such we're supposed to believe that facebook had a random group shutting down glitch at the exact same time this champagne guy was deliberately shutting down sanders groups on facebook AND at the exact same time members of those groups were complaining that their pages were suddenly spammed with objectionable (and facebook rule violating) material.
Maybe the "glitch" was that facebook doesnt normally shut down groups without checking the alerts first. But that doesnt mean the targeting wasnt deliberate.

Warren DeMontague

(1,166 posts)One example: I used to "belong" to a Facebook page called "Boycott BP." It was the only place I could find lots and lots of dependable information on the BP oil disaster in the gulf. The page disappeared twice after it reached close to 1 million followers. Each time Facebook said it was its own error and completely innocent. After the page was put back up twice (following outraged articles in the mainstream media), trolls appeared to post porn and the like. That is what finally killed that page.

(53,035 posts)I don't know why people waste their time with such nonsense.
If I'm not mistaken, however, the allegation was that HILLARY shut down a number of Sanders FB groups, when it turns out there was some sort of FB error.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)But we've spent many months going into great detail how the campaigns are supposed to be responsible for the shit their supporters pull, and here is a hillary supporter who apparently has SOME affiliation with brocks million dollar internet trolling initiative...
And he's bragging that he got a sanders group shut down, "coincidentally" at the exact same time when assorted sanders groups were complaining about suddenly being spammed with porn and then alerted on- and at the exact same time that we're assured- although not by facebook, actually- that these groups were shut down "by a random glitch".
Well, "casey champagne" seems to have fucked up by admitting to it publicly.
BainsBane
(53,035 posts)It's in his FEC filings. There was an ad from the firm he hired to hire people to post pro-Sanders stuff online. That was months ago.
Brock's efforts are clearly toward the General Election, and I'm not really interested in hearing how broken up people are that someone is spending money to defeat Trump. Sanders is finished. NY made that abundantly clear. Brock's announcement came after that.
As for the assholes, I have said several times that assholes come in all varieties. I bear no affinity with strangers across the net and feel no compulsion to defend them simply because they support Clinton.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)The pro-Clinton group Correct the Record said it plans to invest more than $1 million in an effort to beat back efforts online and in social media by supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to anonymously attack Hillary Clinton and her campaign.
In response to these attacks on supporters and superdelegates, Correct The Record is launching the Barrier Breakers 2016 digital task force, the organization said. While Hillary Clinton fights to break down barriers and bring America together, the Barrier Breakers 2016 digital task force will serve as a resource for supporters looking for positive content and push-back to share with their online progressive communities, as well as thanking prominent supporters and committed superdelegates on social media.
BainsBane
(53,035 posts)in such quarters is astronomical. The point, however, has to be to do so in order to advance her prospects in the GE because the fact is Bernie is finished. He would need 81.5% of the remaining delegates, and considering he has proven unable to reach 50% in most states, that isn't going to happen.
As for candidates' being responsible for their online posters: the issue with the Sanders campaign is that legions of Sanders supporters, including those on DU, have felt a compulsion to defend any charge against any Sanders supporter anywhere. Toward that end, they insulted Dolores Huerta, among many others. I had a friend from grad school who works on Mexican and Borderlands history tell me that Huerta's claims "never happened." And you can look at my transparency page for a hide on the subject here on DU. The people who insisted Huerta was a liar were not in that room, but they assumed those associated with Sanders had to be right simply because of their support for that candidate. Incidents like that have been repeated multiple times throughout this primary election cycle.
R B Garr
(16,954 posts)Apparently it took them all day to come up with a single Hillary(?) internet person to blame, and they don't realize they are calling the People for Bernie Sanders group liars.
