(19,877 posts)Any candidate running on both sides. And the only Dem running who voted to protect a big business/gun industry. And the only candidate who voted to deregulate Wall Street.

(1,236 posts)and the little/no experience in congress for the other candidates. I think we can make educated guesses as to what the other parties would have voted had they had the opportunity by looking at what they say and do in other areas.

equal pay...Who isn't?
criminal justice reform...second time is the charm? She stopped taking money from prisons last year...so kind of good...she also is not for legalizing drugs like pot.
Higher wages...well kind of.
immigration reform...H1B visas limit lifted up.
Which part do you "hate"? I would be sure it could have been any of the things listed, or the fact that how she panders to the left, she will pander to the right come the election...and it will all be out the door.

Services liberalisation has been promised to the developing world for over two decades.
Thats what she means about ending discrimination.
Its going to be hard to use the usual arguments against the use of these subcontractors because the awarding of contracts will be based on putting in the lowest qualified bid. So, they will be based on the cost of living and who is willing to sell their services the cheapest. Also, the firms from the least developed countries will get special rights, even if they are composed of relatively well to do people from poor countries.
The world will see them as the victims and Americans as the "protectionists".

I would like to have a serious discusson about this issue and I know a fair amount about it, so HRC folks, please dont attack me. This is all of our country.
What I am talking about is the opening up of service jobs to foreign competition by means of procurement reform and privatization of services
(b) 'services' includes any service in any sector except services supplied in the exercise of governmental authority;
(c) 'a service supplied in the exercise of governmental authority' means any service which is supplied neither on a commercial basis, nor in competition with one or more service suppliers."
The opening up aspect of it is called economic integration.
the US is committed to opening up its services to foreign competition.
You can find out a bit about the ideals of this push by googling World Competition Day.

(1,511 posts)It was mine as well. Last time against Obama I did think about the fact that historically women have not been given the same rights, but the black suffrage movement was far more recent. It seemed like both candidates would break barriers...but then I rather quickly remembered her vote for Iraq and my fried that suffers from flash backs every day, or my other friend that kept getting pulled back in and never got to pursue a career outside of the army, or my friend that has a couple kids that are growing up with out a father since he kept getting extensions. It would be nice to have a female president, but I am not looking forward to having the first female president that starts a war or get indited (not the FBI thing, but for all of the other shadey deals they like to do like the hillary victory fund, the shell corps, deleting her emails).

(13,685 posts)Night or day. This physical world is constrained.
And unfortunately our political system is based on leaders. It is republican in the deepest definition, whereas in a true democracy, all are leaders.
That's why Bernie is my favorite. I like his democratic style.
