Hillary supporters accused of taking down Bernie FB pages in porn attack

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/277657-hillary-supporters-take-down-bernie-fb-pages-in-coordinated

Multiple Facebook pages supporting Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders were abruptly removed from the social media network late last night following a cyberattack.

The pro-Sanders pages — which include Bernie or Bust, Bernie Believers and Bernie Sanders is my HERO — were collectively followed by over a quarter-million supporters of the Vermont senator, and many had been operating continuously since Sanders launched his campaign last year....

According to eyewitness reports, the pages were flooded with pornographic images in what appeared to be coordinated fashion and then flagged for obscene content, prompting Facebook to remove them.

"We had what looked like a kiddie porn posted in one of our groups today,” said Sanders supporter Erica Libenow, according to Heavy.com. "I reported that one. Seriously made me want to vomit.”

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/04/26/an-elaborate-hillary-clinton-facebook-conspiracy-with-coordinated-attacks-and-porn-no-just-a-glitch.html

Theories on Sanders’s primary subreddit and Facebook pages quickly popped up, accusing Hillary Clinton supporters of a coordinated effort with a SuperPAC to report the Sanders pages for threats of violence and child pornography until the pages went down.

Some news organizations appeared to back some of the theories.

...

But Facebook—and now even the affected pro-Sanders groups themselves—say that the real problem was merely a database error that affected more pages than just Sanders-leaning community pages.

I might feel like looking around for the poster who had a screenie of the name of that delegate, but right now I don't feel like it plus I am just getting around to reading on this issue it's gonna be a while before I am comfortable with the preponderance of evidence. But, right now it's not looking good. It really does look like a slimy tactic employed by Clintonistas.

I also can't imagine why people seeing, say, kiddie porn on their screens didn't immediately think "oh gee there's something I'd love to save to my hard drive"

except that the post to which you refer cites a Facebook rep and admins of several "attacked" groups.

This post cites "eyewitness reports". And, while it tangentially mentions kiddie porn, the gist of the article refers simply to "porn".

With the dozens of screen captures thus far offered as evidence, no one in all of Facebookdom thought to catch one of these?

Okay then!

we already know the FBI and other LEOs monitor FB to catch people for dangerous crimes like, ah, marijuana use.

So they'll probably be able to get to the bottom of this if anything genuinely illegal went down, I suspect.
