Bernie supporters, I feel and understand your pain. I promise you that it'll get better.

In 2007-8, I supported Hillary Clinton. When it finally dawned on me that Hillary would not win the Democratic nomination, it put me in a dark place. I wanted the world to burn. I hated Barack Obama. He should have waited his turn. How the hell did this neophyte win the Democratic nomination. Party unity my ass...I secretly hope that John McCain would win.

So, I understand your pain. It's hard right now. It sucks. It hurts. I promise you that the pain will go away. For some, it might take weeks, for others months. And sadly for a select few, it'll take years.

For me, it took me about a month. I avoided any news about the election like the plague. I went on long hikes. I went on a binge tv show watching. But, I couldn't stay away from the news too long. I started hearing about John McCain and Sarah Palin's craziness. I was reminded why I hated the Republicans so much. And hey, Barack Obama was kinda cool. I was still skeptical about his hope and change message, but his policies and plans were a heck of a lot better than John McCain's!

I worked my heart out to get Barack Obama elected. I proudly voted for him and again in 2012.

I know it hurts right now, but I promise you that it'll get better.

This person claims to have hated Obama, which is ridiculous -- I didn't hate him any more than I hate Sanders; I just felt Clinton was the better choice. In 2008 my fellow Democrats disagreed. Not a problem.

And as far as all the "neophyte/wait his turn" nonsense? Pure idiocy and unrepresentative of the way THIS Clinton backer felt.

Obama was a change from that, sort of. At least it looked like he would be, until he started making appointments. Now, here we are, eight years later and still engaged in several illegal wars started under Bush.

But at least we moved a little bit forward. Now, we are moving backward, electing someone who is responsible for the problems we have.

Not going to end well.

At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” - Frank Zappa

I supported Clinton in '08 too. Not because of any particular policy issue, but simply because of that condescending "cling to their guns and religion" latte liberal bullshit.

At the time, I preferred Clinton, and I was somewhat disappointed that we nominated Obama. Oh well.

This? This is a gut-punch. The last three months, we've watched as Frank's curtains were pulled back, watched while the Democratic party - my party - simply abandoned the pretense. Complete corruption of media, complete endorsement of oligarchy in the form of citizens united. Vote irregularity across the nation, complete abandonment of anything that looks like principle in favor of... what? "Math"?

This has been the most sickening political campaign ever. The people who backed Clinton? Yay! We backed the winner! Do they expect any points for that? It wasn't particularly difficult; watch who the media and Wall Street have chosen for you, then get on that bus.

Unfortunately the brightly painted rightward pointing arrow obscured the bus' destination sign; Maybe it didn't matter, you'd have climbed onto the "winner" bus regardless.

Oh, promises, their kind of promises
Can just destroy a life
Oh, promises, those kind of promises
Take all the joy from life
Oh, promises, promises, my kind of promises
Can lead to joy and hope and love – Yes

No wonder you support Hillary. No hope or change there. We are needing real hope and change now more than ever in our corrupt system of money in politics.

Why would I expect things to get better when the reasons I'm not for Hillary remain the same?
She hasn't had a come to Jesus moment and I don't expect that she truly will. I want a President that cares what the people need and want. We don't need more corporate rulership and wars, trade agreements, cutting welfare and SS benefits, global climate change, and bank crashes.

The fight continues no matter who wins the White House, there is too much at stake and too much to do. Unfortunately if it's not Bernie as president then our work becomes much more difficult in the years ahead. I won't fall in line with policies I totally disagree with, and neither will many other people. Being President in the years to come may not be as fun as she thinks, especially if the public remains involved. We better remain involved if we want a chance to return to democracy.

I'm still with Bernie as long as he's in it to win it -- or to make an impact of he doesn't.

I gotta admit though, this one is really hard for some of us, because it is not just a competition between two candidates. It's been symbolic of much bigger issues.

Personally, I think Bernie does represent the kind of people we need in politics. Someone who says what he thinks, rather than mouthing carefully tested platitudes. You don't feel he is avoiding saying something just to appeal to a particular demographic, or avoid offending anyone, or protecting some political backers.

He also does what he believes in....Even if he does something "political" like his positions on guns, or get a military project steered to Vermont, he''s upfront about it, and tell you he is doing it for pragmatic reasons and to represent the voters in his state.

I won't get into Clinton bashing here, except to say she is the opposite of what I said about Bernie.

I realize Bernie's not everyone's cup of tea. And I realize some people like Clinton. That's politics.

Buit this has taken on a wider significance.

What really is my problem is that she is so enmeshed with a matrix of economic and political elites who had ruined this country. They have stifled debate and action on core issues of concentrated Wealth and Power, and how that affects almost every otehr issues. They represent the systemic corruption that has made government unresponsive to the needs of average people and teh disadvantaged.

Sanders presented an opportunity to shift course, and restore real competition between the left and right halves of the spectrum -- and pull the center to the REAL center, instead of the conservative center.

Have to lick some wounds. I'm disappointed (once again) and have to let time heal wounds, as you said.

I do know I will feel very lukewarm about the competition between the Red and Blue team and the Clinton and Trump Steel Cage Death Match. My only real support for Clinton will be the obligatory vote to keep out Trump.
