... limits any influence they may hope to have during the primaries. (Although I'm sure they're absolutely convinced that such passive aggressive snubs of the party really makes a difference, and those people are very proud of themselves.)

I think that's a faulty assumption.

There will never be a third party candidate, or write-in candidate, who will become President. (I invite you to bookmark this post and throw it back in my face if I'm ever proved wrong. Assuming I'm still alive and assuming that this web site still exists in its current form, and assuming that its archived posts are still available.)

Your misreading on the emerging (and largest) generation of voters is rather extraordinary. Watch this -- it might give you some new insight.

Unless and until our laws are rewritten, there will never be a 3rd party or write-in candidate. I'd also love to see the Electoral College eliminated. And "instant run-off" elections when a candidate fails to get a majority of the vote would be nice too.

But, how do you get the laws changed? Hmmm... that's a toughie.

I don't know the exact answer, but I'll bet it doesn't include griping and sniping from the sidelines once every four years, and complaining about how the Democratic Party won't let Green Party members participate in the Democratic Primary.

Your misreading on the emerging (and largest) generation of voters is rather extraordinary.

These are the same ones who show up to rallies and swarm online polls, but don't show up to vote? Are those the ones you're talking about?

.... but the official Democratic and Republic parties remain tonedeaf to, at their own peril. Things are changing very rapidly, and one would have to be willfully blind not to see it.

I guess that's just the nature of fast-paced political discussion web sites. Snark and sarcasm just go with the territory.
