2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary and Her Private Jet - From January 2017
Presidents have to travel - a lot. It comes with the territory of being the Chief Executive of the most powerful nation on Earth. While she's been flying around on charter jets during the campaign, next year, she'll have a private jet to beat all private jets at her disposal:
Our Presidents deserve the best, I think. So much depends on them.

(146,325 posts)Air Force One is for the use of the President of the United States or as directed by the POTUS. It's a distinction too fine to be noticed, I think.

(146,325 posts)We pay to have a President. That's not inexpensive, but it's necessary. Every bit of it.

(20,885 posts)That jet comes with a phalanx of corporate lobbyists. They get the rides.

(146,325 posts)I have no idea about passenger lists on AF1. So, I couldn't say who flies on the plane. Do you have any passenger manifests that demonstrate your claim?

(146,325 posts)It does have defensive armaments and countermeasures, though. They're necessary, unfortunately. Presidents are sometimes unpopular in some circles.

(67,433 posts)Billions on a plane that don't work, but Berne refuses to put it on his list of "wasteful military spending cuts" he says he implement if elected. And he says it's "to late" to do anything about it, yet if they ended the project it wold save Billions more instead of wasting it on something that will never do what it was supposed to do.
But then it's OK when Bernie is the one wasting Billions!

(146,325 posts)I don't know when it was taken, but it's an interesting juxtaposition, isn't it?

(6,551 posts)At first I was so fixated on the plane and foliage that I didn't see the presidents. That makes a huge difference.

(115,826 posts)It's owned and operated by the Air Force, meaning by us taxpayers. And you might want to lay off the passive-aggressive gloating. We all know that presidents get to meet world leaders, live in a big fancy house and get driven around in a big fancy car and ride in a 747, and Hillary will get to do these things and Bernie won't, ha ha, nyah nyah, suck on that, BernieBros. Are you going to show us a White House bathroom next?
MineralMan
(146,325 posts)here's an article about the gender-neutral restroom there:

(115,826 posts)that if she wants, Hillary her own awesome self will be able to pee in that very bathroom?
MineralMan
(146,325 posts)White House. The President and family have private facilities for their own use. I doubt that they use the public restrooms.
She could, of course, if she needed to, but I imagine she will almost always use one of the private ones.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,826 posts)Maybe Bernie can use that little gender-neutral public loo if he visits, though. We Bernie Bros can take comfort in that.
