What a nice statement from these guys. They obviously have their heads screwed on straight. And it is a teaching and learning moment. I assumed Native Americans disliked the phrase, of course, but underestimated just how much.

When describing Trump or Cruz, she'd be better off sticking to phrases like:

Nuttier than a fruitcake (no offense to those with nut allergies or fruitcake bakers).
Off the rails (no offense to railroad or subway workers).
Loony tunes (no offense to Mel Blanc or Warner Bros.)
Bananas (no offense to Chiquita or Dole).

I have heard it and hadn't thought about it. Now, I have thought about it. Good for them speaking out. Good for them seeing it for what it is.
