Opinion: Bernie Sanders, the contest is over

pretty concise

Sen. Sanders cannot win this primary, and there will be no revolution. He must accept that. If he cares about the poor and underprivileged, he should use his new-found bully pulpit to gather support for down-ticket Democrats so that we can have true change. His one-man band revolution is going nowhere and only serves to keep right-wing Republicans in power in Washington. Senator, the contest is over. It is time to stand down.

She even evoked the murder of RFK (one of my heros) as a reason to stay in the race. GET OFF YOUR HIPOCRTICAL HIGH HORSE!

His opinion has no more weight than anyone else. Why in the world would you create an OP for an unknown guy in Vermont?

he's not some unknown guy in Burlington

from what I read, he's a fairly well known attorney in the town; looks like he's very active in the community so his opinion would carry weight

I get it, but that doesn't mean I have to accept hubris.

I'm glad Bernie is going all the way. Look what happened in IN.

He will likely lose the nomination, but every vote and every delegate sends a message about his agenda.

have you not been here for a while?

Such candor from a Hillary supporter regarding HRC is unusual. She is a very weak candidate. The party made a terrible mistake choosing her and anointing her before the race even started.

Rather decisively.

Plus, Hillary didn't drop out of the race until after the last primary in 2008, so why the hell should Bernie at this point?

Plus, the more people start calling for him to drop out, the more determined his supporters are to see it to the end. And huge swaths of the independents who support him will not vote for Hillary in the GE, which means she won't win.
