If the trend towards triangulation continues, the resulting center-right Democratic Party may or may not be a viable entity going forward, but it will inevitably result in the formation of a genuinely viable left-wing party. There are millions of people completely fed up with the Democratic Party's long shift rightwards.

I think the 3rd away folks share far more political DNA with the GOP than with progressives. Kind of difficult to make headway towards economic justice and equality when a powerful faction wants to ensure the status quo is maintained at all costs.

On the bright side, regardless of how this turns out, the GOP is stuck with Trump, who isn't guaranteed to lose, but is certainly less formidable than if the GOP had nominated someone like Kasich or Rubio, who at least don't come off as batshit crazy or racist. So if we're going to decide if we're progressive or 3rd Way, now would be the time.

Bernie brought life back to the Dem party but they'll jump ship if Hillary is the nominee.
I've been a dedicated Dem my entire adult life and I'm about to go elsewhere myself. If
there's no room in the Dem party for Bernie then there's none for me either!

The global warming and income inequality trends are nearing breaking points. It really won't matter 20 years from now whether its Hillary or Trump who gets elected this fall. But it might with Bernie!

Hillary supporters take note. This is about much more than the horse race. Even if you support Hillary, can't you step back just a moment and see how important and helpful Bernie's run has been (and will be) going forward, for issues like climate change, income inequality and money in politics?

To those Hillary supporters in this forum that are so tone-deaf and bankrupt that they just post mean-spirited one-liners about Bernie, don't you live in the same world as we do?

Are you so sure that Hillary is going to address these problems head on? I think this is key. I think that there is very little evidence that Hillary will do anything but maintain the status quo.

And it does me no good to be able to say "I told you so" when the earth is heating +3.5C by 2100.
