DAY 1 OF SPOILER WATCH

Hillary Clinton conceded 80 days before the Democratic Convention in 2008.

Today marks day 80 before the 2016 Democratic Convention.

Every day Senator Sanders does not concede, does damage to our nominee, and makes his eventual endorsement of Hillary Clinton less believable.

The Republican Nominee, Donald Trump, is already using Senator Sanders own words against the Democratic Nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Every moment Senator Sanders continues to campaign, will be used by the GOP.

Senator Sanders can concede and have his delegates represented at the convention, just like Hillary did in 2008. Senator Sanders can still be voted for in the few remaining primaries.

Senator Sanders is much farther behind Hillary Clinton at this point in 2008, than Hillary Clinton was behind President Obama.

It’s time to concede, Senator Sanders. The General Election has begun.

Every day over 80 days will reveal what failing to concede brings us.

gave Clinton enough delegates to win? No matter how you wish it or unlikely Sanders will get it, he still could get the 65% he needs to get the majority of pledged delegates. I know the chance is small but if you are sure it is not going to happen at least let people in CA have the illusion that they actually matter in this country. Living in some states makes voting in POTUS elections useless because of electoral votes. So this year is first time in a very long time CA has mattered in a election.

He's not hurting anyone. Bernie has not said a single negative thing that Trump wouldn't/didn't come up with on his own.

No one can argue that the race has not completely changed since most of the Hillary delegates endorsed her. Yes, superdelegates will probably go with the pledged delegate outcome, but given the way the race evolved, and given Clinton's unprecedented unfavorable numbers, the superdelegates MUST be given a chance to consider these factors.

I don't like having superdelegates at all, but the fact is, we have them. The Democratic Party added superdelegates to prevent a candidate they believe is too weak from taking the nomination. They must be given a chance to do their jobs. Everyone that continues to contribute absolutely agrees.

Clearly Hillary's not even focussed on him. She spent zilch in Indiana (and still took nearly half the votes) and her ads are targeted right where they belong ... at Trump. Yeah, a tiny handful might have seen her as weak with Sanders still in the race, but after those ads, I think everyone knows that our girl Hillary ain't playing.

Both Democrats played each other with kid gloves by and large. I don't like negative campaigning but there's no getting around the fact that this is one campaign that will only be won on the battlefield of war. Bernie wouldn't have had the stomach to take someone like Trump on. Hillary will mop the floor with him.

Hillary only conceded after all primary elections were over on June 7 and the final pledged delegate count left her 100 delegates behind Obama and Superdelegates were abandoning her ship.

The Convention in 2008 was at the end of August. This year's convention is one month earlier.

I will say though, that he certainly has the right to stay in, until the last votes are cast. It would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise.

However, he does need to stop this b.s. about a "contested" convention, and quit campaigning against the Democratic Party itself. IF he wants to show that he's truly a Democrat, there are things he needs to be doing that he has not done.
