Related: About this forumThe Pope has NOT endorsed Bernie Sanders
There is a false story circulating from a bogus website stating that he has. He has NOT, and would not endorse any candidate for a U.S. Presidential nomination.
The story is simply false on its face.

(15,512 posts)Here's the English transcript of that October speech. It has nothing to do with US politics:

It's not "satire" either. It's straight-up RW propaganda.

(15,512 posts)But it looks real, and it was posted under the impression that it's real, and there's no indication in the OP or article that it isn't real, which makes it lousy satire. Incidentally I suggested that the OP label it as satire yesterday. OP didn't. Several others have suggested that the OP simply self-delete. OP hasn't. But s/he acknowledged that it isn't true. So there it is.

(1,729 posts)The amount of religious symbolism and terminologies swimming around Sanders campaign are truly terrifying to me because history tells us where that can lead.

(1,729 posts)I frankly think the Pope went way too far in allowing the Sanders campaign to imply a tacit endorsement as it is, but no, he did not and would not endorse a U.S. candidate. They've lost too many Catholics in the U.S. already for him to try something like that. Sad to see that Bernie supporters are still playing that tune.
