(16,974 posts)Unlike the primaries, independents can vote for president. I know it was rhetorical but...

(112 posts)Hillary has a few things that are helpful to her campaign:
* less coverage of Bernie by corporate media (Bernie is a threat to their self-interests)
* Dishonesty: party infiltration
* More dishonesty: Election fraud
* superPACs
* paid Internet trolls
* Democratic party rigging the system
* The Establishment likes her
Even after everything, Bernie still poses a viable threat to her candidacy. Time is on his side as more people learn about him through non-mainstream channels. After all of the shenanigans, he should take the gloves off and run as an independent if he loses the nomination.

A- Zimmermann broke no current laws, acted reasonably and Florida laws relating to any of his actions need no changes

(3,733 posts)How can he be the best candidate if he can't win the primary.
Words mean things.
It's like saying I'm only 3feet tall, but that's really tall...if you change
what the word tall means.
Hillary has the most delegates and votes....but only if you use conventional
math to add those things up.
I have to hit the ATM in a couple of days because I only have about 30 dollars in my pocket...but if I had 300 hundred milillion dollars in pocket I'd be wealthy.
Yeah I guess if you're using your own personal definition of words then
Bernie would be the best candidate.
k8conant
(3,030 posts)griffi94
(3,733 posts)besides delegate can be spelled with a G ....same as 10 can be bigger than 100
and better can be applied to the guy in second place.
Demsrule86
(68,667 posts)He will not have more pledged delegates...and supers will vote for the candidate that does...Hillary Clinton. I think Sanders would be a terrible GE candidate...lots of negatives would come out that would shock people.
Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)They make up 43 percent of the electorate, but are frozen out of many of the primaries.
They like Bernie. They can't stand Hillary. They may go with Trump because they KNOW how awful she is. With him, they're not sure.
griffi94
(3,733 posts)Indies aren't any more monolithic than any other group.
They're not all progressive. They include T-baggers who find the GOP too liberal
and moderates who find the both parties unacceptable but vote for the most moderate.
There was an OP up earlier about that very thing.
In 2004 Kerry won the Indies +5 and still lost.
No Bernies supporters are trying use new definitions of words to
imply something that reality isn't bearing out.
Demsrule86

(3,733 posts)It's rigged.
Best means the candidate that came in second.
It means that because it's rigged.
Hillary won POC by a huge margin.
Because it's all rigged.
Women voted for her in huge numbers.
Rigged.
I think i'll try paying my rent with a 5 dollar bill and when they managment company won't let me I'll tell them it's rigged.

I will be happy if Senator Sanders takes this all the way to the convention.

(5,901 posts)You are believing what you want to believe if you think Hillary won't govern Center-Right and sell us out on Social Security. She's better than Trump, but she's not up to par progressively on either domestic or foreign issues.

(3,146 posts)...that's been on DU since 2001. I came here in January 2004 to get away from that type of thinking and here we are in 2016 and it's coming from people that are on "our side".

(3,431 posts)you enjoy "tweaking" the SBS supporters.
A lot on your side seem to enjoy it too.
But then, we know by now that you won't
need our votes, because your candidate now
tries turning right, right, and right again, so
that she can win with the repugs.
If that assures her win in the GE, you and
the party have lost most of the millennials.
Congratulations to your strategy: We will
from then on ONE party, which belongs to the banks,
corporations and the MIC; definitely NOT to the
people.
