2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf Bernie loses to Hillary, its all on him and his campaign. It wont be my fault.
He gets all the blame for his own decisions and lack of judgement. We wouldnt want any double standards or hypocrisy, right?

Nobody is expecting you to take the blame for what Bernie did or didn't do.
Cripes, do you ever let up?

(2,405 posts)He started his campaign too late, didn't reach out to POC until it was too late, Cornel West an admitted Obama hater and the list goes on and on.

(40,169 posts)Hillary has that down to an art form.

(2,405 posts)Free college tuition then visits college campuses. Sanders repeat the same talking points over and over. I can even listen to him speak anymore....It's too much...

(40,169 posts)This is freakin' paradise for college bound kids, right?
Six figures in debt plus the little piece of parchment.
What a sad state of affairs. Hillary's $12 an hour jobs will get everyone through it, though.
asuhornets
(2,405 posts)you really believe Sanders can raise the min wage from $7.25 to $15...that would be nice. But that does not happen overnight.

But "Yay Hillary", right?

(4,387 posts)- The Crime Bill (I know you'll say Bernie voted for it, and he did, but was outspoken about the very bad parts of it. What was he supposed to do? Vote against the VAWA?)
- NAFTA
- IWR
- TPP
- Pushing Libya
- Private email server
- and many more...
Note that those are all policy related except the email server. I figure you'll find 2-3 for Sanders but the lists don't even compare in magnitude or number.

(2,405 posts)I will admit in the beginning his large rallies scared the hell out of me..He went negative for a minute but that's because he saw no path. But lately he has continued to go negative-Hillary has yet to even lay a finger on him..I'll be glad when it is all over..

(20,176 posts)I also think it's true when said about Clinton.
Nobody is entitled to support. A losing candidate is 100% responsible for their loss...not the voters that they failed to persuade to support them. If Hillary wants my vote, she has to earn it. Bernie already earned it if he came out of the primaries as the nominee. If Sanders wants your support...he needs to earn it. Loyalty pledges to vote the party line are part of the problem, not the solution. If holding SCOTUS is important...earn the support to do it. Don't try to use it as a cudgel to compel support.
This belief that we are or should be obligated to support any candidate ever, no matter how loathsome we personally find them to be, is both arcane and stupid.

(154,021 posts)he did not earn your vote. And if she does not earn the votes of Americans and loses to trump it is the same thing. She needs to earn those votes. And purity pledges ( very much a RW tactic) are not going to work. Nor are threats or at this point, lesserism of evil.
So there. We agree, and somewhere there is this report of snow in hell. And it is sticking. Poor devil, he is not used to cold...
