The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center did a one sided analysis/hit piece on Sanders' economic proposals, which only estimated the potential tax increases. They didn't factor in the benefits of the programs that the taxes would fund, which the Sanders campaign pointed out. They did this one-sided analysis in the heat of the primary and now, when Sanders has far less of a chance at winning, they re-do the analysis and find out that most would see a major net benefit from Sanders' policies (with the poorest benefiting the most), proving that his campaign's critiques were correct.
Here's the article that TYT was talking about:
http://thehill.com/policy/finance/279201-study-most-would-see-net-benefits-from-sanderss-proposals
"Study: Most would see net benefits from Sanders's proposals"
...TPC found that the average tax burden would increase by about $9,000 in 2017 but the average amount of benefits would increase by more than $13,000. As a result, households would on average receive a net income gain of almost $4,300 under Sanderss proposals, TPC said.
Households in the bottom fifth of income would on average receive a net gain of more than $10,000, and those in the middle fifth of income would have an average gain of about $8,500. Those in the top 5 percent of income would see a net loss of about $111,000, TPC said.

(13,685 posts)Some, the Bernie folks, will cry tears of joy.
The H camp tears of sadness that Bernie is the best. Weird, yes, but they now know Bernie is the best!

(651 posts)for, we manipulated reality (which they did, their error in logic was obvious) and now are working to maintain our reputation. They will argue that they made a "small" error and corrected it, because they are such an upstanding organization.

No one falls for lies...need I bother to give examples? I cannot believe a human typed that.
"doesn't mean people lie about him"
Yes, but there is the actual video and article that started this thread though, which talks about lies people told about his policies. Look up, watch, read. I made it easy for you. It's okay to ingest information that doesn't just affirm your beliefs. Have faith that it all can withstand reality.

(19,326 posts)it's like only "studying" 1/2 of the Universe, as in taking note that it "costs" a person
$1 for a benefit/value there's no record of them ever actually receiving, even though they
do receive it, because that info is deliberately omitted.
What's weird is that media actually reports this shit, as if it has some "value" in terms
of better understanding WTF is really going on.

Yet, for a time we beat back the robber barons. We need to figure out how and do that again. And for good.

(20,219 posts)The top one tenth of 1% have incomes over $1.7 Million. Just removing the Social Security cap on income over $250K would raise their tax burden by almost $100K.
Actually, the threshold for the top 5% is only $166K and the funny thing is I bet most don't consider themselves "rich".
That being said, I agree they may have accidentally on purpose wrote $111K rather than $11K, or they may have meant the top 1%, not 5%.

(11,945 posts)If he makes a claim, he can back it up. His proposals are always well thought-out and funded. He never pulls factoids out of his butt. Read the "Issues" section, including the "how he pays for it" part, on his website.
So when I hear entities like Brookings, and Hill fans on GD-P, call him a liar or a seller of unicorns, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are liars, they just make it up as they go along and, like their candidate, don't care if what they're saying is true or not. They just want to do damage. Period.
What's amazing is that anyone could ever believe them on anything.

(7,364 posts)a bit too much. While it may be unsustainable per the article in the long run I think we should explore this option more, shoot, the amount we fund the military is unsustainable in the long run. I feel fairly confident we can figure this out.
